Yesterday, one of our brothers hung up his uniform and retired. Lt Tony Likins dedicated his life to public service starting at a young age. After graduating from Anderson County High School he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served honorably for four years. He then began working for the Ky Dept of Fish & Wildlife before becoming a Lawrenceburg Police Officer. In 2007, he realized his true calling and became a Deputy Sheriff at the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. Tony served in many roles over the years including Patrol Deputy, DARE Instructor and School Resource Officer, where he retired as a Lieutenant. We wish Tony and his wife Stephanie well in their future endeavors. Thank you for your service to your country and to your community. May God bless you.

Also, a big thank you goes out to Shoe Carnival of Frankfort for always accommodating us! And of course the biggest thank you goes out to the many donors of the Anderson County DARE Program! We truly could not do this without your help!

DARE FEST CANCELED DUE TO RAIN!!

Unfortunately, we have come to a difficult decision and have decided to cancel DARE FEST scheduled for tomorrow August 1st. Due to the current forecast and timing of the rain, it would be best to cancel. We will be rescheduling this event for hopefully late September or early October. We will be posting updates as soon as we confirm a future date. We want to thank all of our community partners who have worked hard putting this event together and we apologize to the kids who were really looking forward to it!

DARE FEST OFFERS FISHING OPPORTUNITY

Anderson County DARE Program wants to give a huge SHOUT OUT to the "Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife" and to Officer Jason Wells! With their help we will be able to offer fishing for the kids at our DARE Festival. They will have a booth set-up at the Anderson County Park pond and will provide loaner poles, bobbers, and other tackle so the kids can catch some fish. They will also have a cool boat and truck set-up so they can check that out too! We want to thank them for helping make this festival successful. Make sure to save the date. Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 10 A.M. - 3 P.M.

UPDATE: This male has been located, unharmed, as of 7/26/2026. Thank you to all those who took the time to share this post.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a report of a missing/runaway juvenile. Deputies are actively working closely with the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office following up on leads and working to locate the juvenile to ensure he is safely returned home.

Missing Juvenile Information:

• Name: Coty Lee Workman

• Age: 16

• Description: 6’0 tall, 150 lbs, natural brown hair, and brown colored eyes. Last seen wearing jeans, white or black T-shirt, white or gray Ariat cap, short top brown Ariat work boots and a silver necklace.

• Last Seen: Around 12:30 a.m. on 07/25/2026 at his current residence on Teal Point Drive in Lawrenceburg. He was last seen running from the residence and getting in a truck and leaving the area, with an unknown destination.

At this time, there is no indication of foul play, and this appears to be an isolated incident between this male juvenile and a friend that picked him up. We are requesting the public to keep an eye out for this male with special attention to Anderson and Spencer County. We will provide updates if additional information is needed or obtained.

We appreciate the community’s support and understanding as we continue our work on this matter. If you have any reports concerning this juvenile, or know his whereabouts, please contact one of the numbers below:
