Yesterday, members of the Lawrenceburg Fire Department were honored to participate in the A Day At The Park - Raising Autism Awareness event. It was a great opportunity to spend time with families, connect with our community, and support an important cause that impacts so many lives.

In addition to displaying equipment and getting to know the attendees, we were proud to donate two children’s bicycles, one boys bike and one girls bike, along with helmets, for the event. We hope they help bring a little extra excitement and joy to two deserving children.

Thank you to the organizers , volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who attended for making the event a success. We appreciate the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful day and look forward to supporting future community events.

This free community event is all about raising autism awareness and spending time together as a community. A day of music, food, and fun where every family feels seen, supported, and celebrated.

Lineup includes Jeremy Zeller and the Otherside, Unky Bones, Zuzu Yaya, Nick Teale, Crown & Spurs, Nate Jones, and John Hager & Reckless Strings.

⚠️ Updated Weather Alert for Lawrenceburg and Anderson County | June 17, 2026

The National Weather Service out of Louisville has updated their outlook for our area. This is an active weather situation with two distinct rounds of storms expected. Here is what Lawrenceburg and Anderson County need to know.

Round 1: Tonight into early Thursday morning
A strong low pressure system and slow-moving cold front will push a line of severe thunderstorms into our area late tonight. Expect the most active period between 1-6 AM Thursday. Damaging winds and tornadoes are possible. The greatest severe threat is north of I-71, but Anderson County is not in the clear. A Flood Watch is in effect until 9 AM Thursday. Torrential downpours are expected with 1-2 inches of rainfall possible, and locally higher amounts. Creeks, streams, and low-lying areas will be vulnerable overnight. Have multiple ways to receive weather alerts that can wake you up tonight — do not rely solely on your phone’s sound being on.

Round 2: Thursday afternoon and evening
The cold front stalls and additional rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to develop Thursday, with the greatest threat from 1-9 PM. Some storms are expected to be strong to severe with damaging winds the primary hazard. The flash flood threat increases again from 3-9 PM Thursday evening. Rainfall totals of 1-2 inches are possible in Round 2 as well, with isolated amounts of 3 inches or more. Low-water crossings throughout Anderson County will be a serious concern by Thursday afternoon.

What this means for our community:

• Take the overnight threat seriously — severe weather while you are asleep is dangerous
• Have a weather radio or alert-capable app that will wake you if warnings are issued
• Never attempt to cross flooded roadways — turn around, don’t drown
• Secure loose outdoor items before tonight
• Check on your neighbors, especially elderly residents

Lawrenceburg Fire Department will be monitoring conditions closely through both rounds of this event. If you have an emergency, call 911.

The National Weather Service out of Louisville is forecasting a multi-day weather event beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, June 17, and continuing through Thursday, June 18. Here is what Lawrenceburg and Anderson County can expect.
Wednesday night, June 17, into early Thursday morning:

A strong low pressure system and slow-moving cold front will bring severe storm chances Wednesday night. Damaging winds and tornadoes are possible. Winds outside of thunderstorms could gust 30-40+ mph across Anderson County. Lawrenceburg sits in a Marginal Risk (level 1) zone for this period, meaning storm coverage will be lower here than in areas to our north, but the threat is real and worth taking seriously.
Thursday, June 18:

The cold front continues pushing through Anderson County, bringing repeated rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms throughout the day. The Lawrenceburg area carries a Slight Risk (level 2 of 4) for excessive rainfall leading to flash flooding. Rainfall totals of 1-2 inches are possible with localized higher amounts. Our creeks and streams, including the Salt River and its tributaries, will be particularly vulnerable. Low-water crossings throughout Anderson County are a serious concern.
What this means for our community:

Never attempt to cross flooded roadways — turn around, don't drown
Secure loose outdoor items before tomorrow night
Have a reliable way to receive weather alerts (NOAA Weather Radio or your phone's wireless emergency alerts)
Check on your neighbors, especially elderly residents in our community

It has been a busy week for the Lawrenceburg Fire Department.

From malfunctioning alarms, several vehicle accidents, including a severe crash, sump pump failures that filled homes with smoke, medical emergencies, community events, and working alongside other city departments to solve problems throughout the community, our members have continued to answer the call.

No matter the situation, they show up, work hard, and serve with dedication and professionalism. We are proud of our firefighters and thankful for the commitment they demonstrate every day.

What a great afternoon!
Today, the Lawrenceburg Fire Department and the Anderson Co. Fire Protection District joined our neighbors at Anderson County EMS / Emergency Management for a cookout and fellowship at their station. A simple get-together, but one that meant a lot.

Public safety in Anderson County is carried by dedicated men and women who show up every single day, and it is a beautiful thing when those people get to slow down, share a meal, and just be neighbors. Laughter, good food, and conversations that had nothing to do with tones dropping or radios crackling.

We are grateful for the partnership with these agencies and even more grateful for the people inside them. Anderson County EMS, thank you for hosting and for bringing us all together.
This is what community looks like.
