TEAM WORK (Even Across County Lines)

Earlier this week, emergency responders were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision with injuries. The location of the incident was near the Wayne/Lawrence County line with an unknown exact location. Responders from both Lawrence and Wayne County responded and assisted the patient.

Incidents like this show how neighboring agencies work together to provide emergency services to our communities. We are proud of our mutual aid agreements and working relationships with our neighboring counties!!

πŸ’š May is Mental Health Awareness Month β€” a time to recognize the importance of mental wellness for everyone in our communities, including the first responders who answer the call every day.

At Lawrence County EMS, we know that emergency responders face difficult and traumatic situations that can take a toll mentally and emotionally. That’s why we are proud to partner with the Tennessee Public Safety Network to support our responders through post-incident debriefings and trained peer support specialists within our department.

Mental health matters for everyone β€” whether you are a first responder, healthcare worker, friend, family member, or neighbor. If you are struggling, please know that you are not alone, and help is available. Reaching out is a sign of strength.

LCEMS PREPARES NEW EMS UNIT

C shift spent some time yesterday working on stocking our new Unit 205 for state approval. When we receive a new unit, it’s an entire process to get it placed into service. Lettering must be done, which is followed by radios and communication equipment. Tags and registration, then moving over large equipment like stretcher mounts, refrigerators, and cardiac monitors. Crews also must stock the truck with all the equipment and supplies required by the state and necessary to care for our patients. These supplies are meticulously checked to ensure our unit is prepared for inspection by the State Office of EMS. We have a few parts of the process still to be completed and those appointments are set. We look forward to placing this unit into service in the coming weeks.

Thanks again to the Lawrence County Commission, and County Executive Morgan for supporting the purchase of this unit. We look forward to it providing great service to the citizens of Lawrence County for many years to come!!
