Many thanks to the Rising Sun Regional Foundation for providing a grant to the Dearborn/Ohio County Prosecutor’s Special Crimes Unit. The provided funds ($9253.00) will be used to upgrade our forensic software capabilities and digital storage capacity. The foundation has been very supportive of our mission of assisting local law enforcement during complicated investigations and we are very appreciative of their support. Thanks again.

Thanks to a grant from the Ohio County Community Foundation, the Dearborn/Ohio County Prosecutor's Office Special Crimes Unit was able to provide each Sheriff's Deputy and each Rising Sun Police Officer with a new high capacity portable hard drive and data storage device for their use. This will enable them to more efficiently store and transfer digital evidence and photos. Pictured below:

The Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit is asking for any information in relation to recent daytime burglaries in the Manchester Township area of Dearborn County. Detectives ask that residents and members of the public, especially in that area, be aware of any suspicious activity day or night. Please report any observations to SCU Detectives thru the Sheriff's Office at 812-537-8700 or the Special Crimes Unit TIP LINE at 812-537-3571. If vehicles or persons of a suspicious nature are observed PLEASE note as much of a description as possible without approaching or taking any action. Most of these burglaries have taken place during daylight hours and when no one was at home, but could occur at any hour so please be observant. If you should discover that you have been a victim, please report this to police immediately. PLEASE LOCK YOUR DOORS!
