Dearborn County Emergency Management & Dearborn County Local Emergency Planning Commission will be conducting a simulated hazmat training exercise on Saturday September 19th starting at 8AM with completion by 1PM.

The exercise will be located at Perfect North Slopes with a staging area at Tanner Valley Church. You will see increased public safety equipment in the area.

Important Information for the public:

This is a planned simulation designed to test and improve multi-agency coordination, communication, and response protocols.
There is no danger to the public. Please avoid the entrances and parking areas of Perfect North Slopes and Tanners Valley Church. We are conducting the exercise in parking lots to reduce inconvenience to the public.
Minor traffic delays may occur near these areas.

SBA MOBILE RECOVERY VEHICLE COMING TO DEARBORN COUNTY TO ASSIST AUGUST 11 STORM SURVIVORS & WHITEWATER RIVER FLOODING

DEARBORN COUNTY, IN – Help is coming to Dearborn County for residents and businesses recovering from the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes of August 11, 2026, and August 14th Whitewater River flooding. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will deploy its Mobile Recovery Vehicle to Dearborn County, bringing disaster loan assistance information and one-on-one support directly to those affected by the storm.

Residents, homeowners, renters, businesses, and nonprofit organizations who experienced storm-related physical damage and economic losses are encouraged to stop by the Mobile Recovery Vehicle to learn more about disaster loan assistance. Experienced SBA customer service representatives will be on hand to answer questions, explain available resources, and provide one-on-one guidance through the application process.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued September 4 at 5:24PM EDT until September 4 at 5:30PM EDT by NWS Wilmington OH
The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits
and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty
winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.
