Nature's Haven Inc.- Wildlife Rescue - mammals A home-based wildlife rescue for orphaned/injured infant wildlife(Kentucky wild mammals). We are a 501(c)3 non profit organization.

We do not charge a fee for our services but we do request a donation to assist with the care of the animals we receive. We are small, but we like it that way. We receive mammals, we are not equipped or licensed to provide continued care for avian. With primarily 1 person caring for these animals(a few volunteers who have full time jobs) we can only take in a limited number of species. We provide o

ne on one care with each animal. We receive over 200 animals, drive nearly 6,000 miles and spend nearly $10,000 each year, with some coming from our own pockets. The animals we receive are considered to be 'nuisance' wildlife, but they too deserve a second chance to live. Many times it is the human who has caused an incident that results in orphaned/injured infants. The wildlife go unnoticed, no voice, disposable compared to our domestic pets. We have pushed the wildlife, moved into their environment, taken away from who was here first. Let's give back to them that have brought us so much.

Meet Thor. He's about 2 yrs old, 13 lb male, hit/rolled by a vehicle this morn on US 127. Two others were dead. Veterinarian(Dr. Jane Mason) has examined him, no obvious injuries(just a bit of road rash). He has pain meds on board. Fingers crossed. He's beautiul. Time will tell, but he is safe for now.

Wildlife Wednesday. I realize some people view wildlife as a nuisance, I view them as the underdogs. So many things stacked against them, they merely want to live free. Here are a few of the babies I received. After several months of work, feedings, some near death experiences, release day was Monday. We took a long walk to the creek, explored a bit, ate lots of greenery, came back to hang out nearby. They went back into their opened gate pen during the night, this is common. Be free my little guys. Bittersweet...
