The Lawrenceville Police Department recently became aware of a planned “Teen Takeover” at the Lawrenceville Lawn being promoted on social media (10/17/2026). Based on the information available to us, the individuals promoting this event are not from Gwinnett County.

We want to make one thing very clear: The City of Lawrenceville has an ordinance regulating public assemblies, and no permit has been applied for this event.

The Lawrenceville Police Department will have zero tolerance associated with this gathering. This applies to those organizing the event as well as anyone who chooses to attend.

To ensure the safety of our residents, visitors, and businesses, we have increased police staffing for Saturday night. Officers will be prepared to address violations, and enforcement action may include citations or physical arrest, as warranted by the applicable ordinances and law.

Let’s be clear: Lawrenceville is not the place for an unauthorized gathering that puts public safety at risk.

We encourage parents and guardians to talk with their teens, know where they are going, and remind them that actions have consequences.

Our priority is keeping Lawrenceville safe for everyone. We appreciate the community’s cooperation.

Step 3: Start considering other options… including, possibly, eating the evidence? 😳

Thankfully, our officer caught on before this turned into a whole different kind of situation. Nice try, but that plan was going nowhere fast!

The Lawrenceville Police Department is partnering with The Blood Connection to sponsor a blood drive on Thursday, November 19 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Whether this is your first time or you’ve donated before, your generosity has the power to make a real difference. Patients in your community are counting on donors like you—and your next donation could help save multiple lives.

🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸 Donors will receive $40 in Donor Rewards as a token of appreciation for their lifesaving contribution. 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸

Each blood donation saves up to 3 lives! Donors need to be at least 16 years old (16-year-olds need a signed parental consent form), weigh at least 110 pounds, have a photo ID and be in general good health.

Yesterday, faith leaders from across the Lawrenceville community joined Chief Mullin and our command staff for meaningful conversations, great questions, and an opportunity to connect.

Yes, we answered questions, but the most important part of the morning was discussing how we can work together to build a stronger, safer community.

We’re grateful to everyone who took the time to join us and share their thoughts, ideas, and commitment to our community. We look forward to continuing these conversations, collaborating on upcoming events, and finding new ways to support one another as we move forward.

Because building a safer community isn’t something we do alone — it’s something we do together. 💙

🐾🚔 GOT AN EMPTY BUILDING AT NIGHT? OUR K9s WOULD LOVE TO CHECK IT OUT! 🐕‍🦺

The Lawrenceville Police Department K9 Unit is looking for buildings and properties where our teams can train!

Our K9s need to practice in a variety of real-world environments so they’re prepared for the calls they respond to. That’s where YOU can help! 💙

🏢 What types of properties are we looking for?
- Vacant houses that are structurally sound and free of mold
- Office buildings and warehouses
- Schools and churches
- Car lots and body shops
- Vacant properties listed for sale or lease
- Other vacant buildings that offer realistic training environments

📅 When do we train?
Primarily Wednesday evenings after 6 p.m.

📍 Where?
Properties throughout the area are welcome, with Gwinnett and Barrow counties preferred.

A few things to know:
🐾 All training will be conducted by on-duty law enforcement personnel with trained police canines.
🏢 Buildings must be vacant of employees or other occupants in the training areas before training begins.
🤝 We treat our training locations with respect and leave them as we found them.
🔑 Property owners or managers do not need to be present, provided arrangements are made for us to access the property.

As an added benefit, having our K9 teams train at an unoccupied property provides an extra law enforcement presence while the building is vacant!

The Lawrenceville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Kathryn Epperson Ferguson, who has been missing since Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Kathryn was last seen at approximately 6:21 p.m. at the Exxon located at 400 W. Pike Street, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. CCTV footage showed her entering a black Toyota RAV4 displaying Maryland tag 6GW3810.

- White female
- Approximately 5'9"
- Blonde hair
- Last seen wearing a white-and-blue striped button-up shirt and blue jeans

Our thoughts, prayers, and support are with Captain Tallant’s family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Walton County Sheriff’s Office during this incredibly difficult time.

As most of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we want to take a moment to honor everyone who has faced breast cancer, as well as those who have lost a loved one to this disease.

Throughout the month, our officers will proudly be wearing their pink badges to show their support. And it’s only Day 2… but we’re already seeing some great pictures!

So, if you see one of our officers out and about wearing their pink badge, ask them for a selfie! 📸 Then share it with us—we’d love to see it!
