๐Ÿšจ TAPPY TUESDAY IS BACK ON THE DOWNTOWN SQUARE! ๐Ÿšจ

Todayโ€™s star of the show was cruising through the Downtown Square when she was passed by a clearly marked Lawrenceville Police patrol car. But apparently, that wasn't enough of a hint.

She then decided to slingshot herself around that same police car and moments later, ran the red light. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ”ด

When the officer stopped her, she explained that the light was yellowโ€ฆ and then, naturally, asked for a discount on her ticket. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Maโ€™am, this isn't the Tappy Tuesday Outlet Store. There are no discounts. ๐Ÿท๏ธ๐Ÿšซ

All jokes aside, please slow down, pay attention, and obey the traffic signals, especially when you're driving right next to a police car. ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿ’œ September is Su***de Prevention Month ๐Ÿ’œ

Behind every badge, uniform, desk, and home is a person, and sometimes, that person may be struggling in ways others cannot see.

Su***de prevention starts with connection. Check on your friends. Check on your family. Check on your coworkers. Sometimes a simple โ€œAre you okay?โ€ can open the door to a conversation that someone desperately needs.

If you or someone you know is struggling, you don't have to face it alone. Help is available 24/7 by calling or texting 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

As law enforcement officers, we spend our days looking out for others. Let's make sure we're looking out for each other, too. ๐Ÿ’™

You matter. Your life matters. And asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

๐Ÿ’™ Lawrenceville, You Showed Up! ๐Ÿ’™

We simply cannot thank the Lawrenceville and law enforcement communities enough for the incredible support shown to Captain Morris this Saturday. The response was truly overwhelming, and we are thrilled to announce that we officially raised enough money to complete the renovations to the Morris home! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Whether you bought a BBQ plate, purchased a raffle ticket, made a donation, or volunteered your timeโ€”we appreciate you more than you know.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! โค๏ธ

We also want to give a very special THANK YOU to those who helped make this event possible:

๐Ÿ‘ JR Crego
๐Ÿ‘ Emily Hamil Rabago
๐Ÿ‘ Gwinnett County Police Department
๐Ÿ‘ Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office
๐Ÿ‘ Barrow County Sheriff's Office
๐Ÿ‘ DeKalb County Police Department
๐Ÿ‘ Duluth Police Department
๐Ÿ‘ Norcross Police Department
๐Ÿ‘ Oakwood Police Department
๐Ÿ‘ And, of course, employees and volunteers of the Lawrenceville Police Department/City Hall

This is what the law enforcement family looks like. When one of our own needs help, we show up. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for helping us bring Captain Morris one step closer to home. ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ’™

Also, the winner of the RecTeq grill bundle was Robert Brooks.

๐Ÿšจ TAPPY TUESDAY ๐Ÿšจ

Tappy needed a mental health day from watching red-light runnersโ€ฆ but apparently, the traffic violations weren't taking the day off. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Officer Katt spotted this gentleman texting while driving. Things got even more interesting when the officer discovered his driverโ€™s license was suspended. Then, instead of sticking around to explain himself, he decided to put a little distance between himself and his car - and Officer Katt. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ

Fortunately, we donโ€™t fret in these situations because we have the best K9 team around! ๐Ÿ•โ€๐Ÿฆบ

Sometimes the smartest move is to let the K9 Unit do the work. Everyone goes home safe, and Tappy gets to keep his mental health day on the calendar. ๐Ÿ˜‚

And remember, this gentleman is innocent until proven guilty. ๐Ÿซต๐Ÿ˜บ

๐Ÿ”ฅ LESS THAN ONE WEEK TO GO! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

The Battle of the Badges BBQ is almost here, which means we're getting closer to two very important things:

๐Ÿ– Delicious BBQ
๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ The drawing for the ReqTec Grill Raffle!

And there's still time to get in on the fun! You can purchase a BBQ plate, grab a raffle ticket, or simply scan to make a donation to help get Captain Morris' home ADA compliant.

Every plate, ticket, and donation helpsโ€”and we'd love to see you there!

๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ’™ Please help us welcome two new members of the Lawrenceville Police Department family! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš”

This week, we were honored to welcome Officer Ponteau and Officer Adams to the Lawrenceville Police Department!

๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ Officer Ponteau is a recent graduate of the Georgia Piedmont Technical College Police Academy. She will begin her Field Training Program next week as she continues preparing to serve the Lawrenceville community.

๐Ÿ‘ฎ Officer Adams is a seasoned law enforcement officer who will be joining our team on a part-time basis, serving in our Court Security Unit.

Please join us in welcoming both Officer Ponteau and Officer Adams to the Lawrenceville Police family! We are excited to have them on board and look forward to all they will bring to our department and community.

Welcome to the family! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš”

๐Ÿšฆ๐Ÿธ Tappy Tuesday is back... and today's red-light runner is a little different.

One could say this violation may have had something to do with the alcohol he was drinking while running the red light. ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

He may have been confused, but Officer Redmond certainly wasn't confused... or amused.

๐ŸŽถ "Day Drinking" may be a great country song, but day drinking and driving is never a good combination.

If you're behind the wheel:
๐Ÿšฆ Stop on red.
๐Ÿบ Don't drink and drive.

Drive safely, Lawrenceville!
