Look at these former LIS music students being accepted into CJMEA region chorus. Congrats to these fine musicians and director. Ty for representing LTPS at the region level.

Five LMS students auditioned for the Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA) Intermediate Region II Choruses at Monroe Middle School on January 6. Four 8th graders and one 7th grader were accepted into the Treble Chorus or Mixed Chorus! 🎶👏🙌

7th Grade: James Moffett, Baritone - Mixed Chorus
8th Grade: Archana Arulmohan, Soprano 1 - Treble Choir; Lindsay Martin, Tenor - Mixed Chorus ( #3 Tenor in the region); Sunde Ritchie, Alto 2 - Treble Chorus ( #2 Alto overall in the region); Avika Tellis, Soprano 1 - Treble Chorus

All students worked hard after school and on their own, and were very communicative regarding questions about the audition process and materials. They will now be part of a 4-week rehearsal process (Friday evenings and Saturday mornings) with their concert performance on Sunday, February 4, at 3PM at Monroe High School. Tom Zumchak is the LMS 8th Grade Choral Music director.

During LIS shines day, the Cardinal LHS marching band and color guard came to perform for the entire LIS community. Such a treat! We hope that many of our current young musicians keep playing through high school and are members of the marching band or color guard. It is a great program to be involved in at LHS.
Also, during the wellness part of the day. Mr. Kilgore and Mrs. Clark lead ukulele sessions for classes that wanted to try it. The students learned how to play roar by Katy Perry. It was a lot of fun!
