CBNA welcomes the statement from Representative Wesley Bell and Congresswoman Ann Wagner standing with the Srebrenica Memorial Center and those facing escalating pressure for their work to preserve truth, memory, and accountability.

We are especially grateful to see bipartisan leadership from Missouri - home to one of the largest Bosnian-American communities in the United States - speaking clearly at this important moment.

The Srebrenica Memorial Center carries out essential work documenting the genocide, honoring its victims, educating future generations, and confronting genocide denial. Those engaged in this work must be able to do so without intimidation or political pressure.

We thank Representatives Bell and Wagner for their leadership and for standing with the Memorial Center and the Bosniak-American community.

Chairman Senator Wicker and Commissioner Senator Shaheen joined bipartisan colleagues in issuing the following statement after twenty-six current and former staff members and associates of the Srebrenica Memorial Center were summoned for police questioning by the Zvornik Police Department:

“We are deeply concerned by reports that current and former employees and associates of the Srebrenica Memorial Center have been summoned for questioning by Republika Srpska authorities. The scale and timing of these actions are troubling, particularly because the work of the Memorial Center is central to preserving the truth, honoring the victims and defending human rights. We call on the relevant authorities to uphold the rule of law, respect the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s institutions and ensure the Memorial Center can carry out its essential mission free from intimidation.

“The House and Senate have been unequivocal: the Srebrenica massacre was genocide. More than 30 years later, we have a solemn responsibility to remember the victims, stand with their families and ensure this tragic history is neither denied nor erased. Rewriting history for political gain deepens divisions, inflames ethnic tensions and threatens peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We call on the Administration to implement the mandatory sanctions passed in the FY2026 National Defense Authorization Act to hold individuals to account for destabilizing behavior and undermining democratic institutions.”

The Congress of Bosniaks of North America (CBNA) welcomes and strongly supports the bipartisan statement by Senators Jeanne Shaheen, Chuck Grassley, Dick Durbin, Roger Wicker, and Representatives Bill Keating and Mike Turner regarding the escalating pressure on the Srebrenica Memorial Center and the human rights defenders who have dedicated their work to preserving the truth about the Srebrenica genocide.

At a time when those committed to remembrance, education, and historical truth are facing intimidation, this unified message from leaders across both political parties sends an important signal: the international community is watching, and efforts to intimidate those who defend truth and human rights cannot be ignored.

The statement also reaffirms a fact that must never be questioned: Srebrenica was genocide. More than three decades later, protecting the work of the Srebrenica Memorial Center is not only about preserving history - it is about defending human dignity, supporting survivors and their families, and safeguarding the democratic values upon which lasting peace depends.

CBNA is grateful to the Members of Congress who continue to demonstrate principled leadership in support of Bosnia and Herzegovina, accountability, and the protection of institutions dedicated to truth and remembrance.

Danas smo predstavili šesti po redu Izvještaj o negiranju genocida u Srebrenici, koji Memorijalni centar Srebrenica izrađuje kontinuirano s ciljem dokumentovanja, analize i praćenja svih oblika negiranja genocida, veličanja osuđenih ratnih zločinaca i revizionizma.

CBNA Stands with the Srebrenica Memorial Center

The Congress of Bosniaks of North America stands in full solidarity with the Srebrenica Memorial Center and the 26 current and former staff members and associates who have reportedly been summoned for questioning by the Republika Srpska police.

The Srebrenica Memorial Center is far more than a place of remembrance. It is Bosnia and Herzegovina's leading institution dedicated to documenting the Srebrenica genocide, preserving the historical record, supporting survivors, and educating future generations. Its work serves not only Bosnia and Herzegovina, but the international community's commitment to truth, accountability, and genocide prevention.

Any action that creates fear among those who contribute to remembrance, research, education, or the preservation of historical truth deserves the close attention of all who value human rights, democratic institutions, and the rule of law.

The Congress of Bosniaks of North America joins the Memorial Center in calling upon our international partners to follow these developments closely and to reaffirm their support for the independence, integrity, and uninterrupted work of the Srebrenica Memorial Center.

We also express our solidarity with the survivors, returnees, researchers, educators, and all those who continue to defend truth, memory, and justice despite ongoing challenges.

Istovremeno, 3.677 prijava nije prihvaćeno, najčešće zbog:
• neispravnog dokaza o boravištu,
• potpisa koji se ne podudara s identifikacionim dokumentom,
• nepotpune ili neusaglašene dokumentacije.

Ako ste već podnijeli zahtjev, obavezno provjerite status svoje prijave i, ukoliko je potrebno, dopunite dokumentaciju prije isteka roka.

Uprkos jednostavnijem procesu elektronske registracije, odziv dijaspore i dalje je znatno ispod svog potencijala iz više razloga, vrlo sličnih onima iz 2022. godine.

Bila je to prilika da se predstavi nevjerovatna energija bosanskohercegovačke dijaspore, hiljade navijača koji su pokazali da ljubav prema Bosni i Hercegovini ne poznaje granice, kao i zajedništvo koje je obilježilo ovo historijsko ljeto.

Tokom razgovora istaknuta je nada da će se ista ljubav prema domovini sada pretočiti u građansku odgovornost i aktivno učešće u njenoj demokratskoj budućnosti.

Do isteka roka za registraciju ostalo je još samo nekoliko dana. Ako smo mogli preći hiljade kilometara kako bismo bodrili Bosnu i Hercegovinu, možemo odvojiti i nekoliko minuta da ostvarimo svoje biračko pravo.

Ljubav prema domovini ne pokazuje se samo na tribinama. Pokazuje se i odgovornim odnosom prema njenoj budućnosti.
