We've got some exciting news to share! Our new podcast, In Goodfaith, launches Dec 1! Here's a sneak peek of what's to come!
Our research suggests that the greatest impact comes when people from multiple generations come together at the intersection of four pathways, each working in concert with the others.
Our Four Pathways are:
Encounter - experiencing Christ through community and service.
Accompaniment - walking alongside peers and across generations.
Protagonism - empowering youth to become agents of change.
Spiritual Imagination - discerning and articulating a faith-filled future.
These Four Pathways work together to move people across generations towards authentic discipleship and community impact and support youth with agency and a true voice. Like the road to Emmaus in Luke 24, where the disciples encountered Christ and were transformed by his presence, these pathways guide us towards encountering Christ in transformative ways through service and in community.
At Goodfaith, we envision a movement of people who own their faith and share life together across lines of difference. We dream of a Church that transcends divisive boundaries, where the people of God, nourished by the Eucharist, are sent out to create a more equitable world.
In the words of the Romero Prayer, "We may never see the end results, but that is the difference between the master builder and the worker. We are workers, not master builders, ministers, not messiahs. We are prophets of a future not our own."
Goodfaith is an opportunity for all of us to help shape a world that truly reflects the transformative power of the gospel. As the Church lives out its greatest potential, we pray for radical transformation, in us and through us.
Many parishes and dioceses provide service opportunities for their youth. Finding ways for these service experiences to be more than one-off experiences can be a challenge. It doesn't have to be! Goodfaith’s NeXt Level process utilizes these service experiences as an introduction to our rich Catholic Social Tradition and empowers youth to become protagonists in their own journey of faith. How do we know?
Our NeXt Level research reveals that:
• 93% said it was true or somewhat true that they practiced faith in their daily lives as the result of NeXt Level.
• 92% of youth participants said that it was always or sometimes true that they felt known by adult parish members (Youth felt connected to their community of faith).
• 67% of youth participants said that living their lives in accordance with Catholic social teaching was now central to their faith.
Adults that accompanied the youth through our NeXt Level process grew in their faith competence and confidence as well:
• 100% reported it was very or somewhat true that NeXt Level helped them grow personally in their faith and how to live it out.
• 100% reported it was very or somewhat true that they have confidence and competence in sharing their faith with youth.
• 100% reported that it was very or somewhat true that they are able to listen first to youth and ask curious questions to hear their opinions.
