Summer Reading 2026 may be over but we will always remember these special moments. Whether it was our Carnival Kick-off event, Showtime Canines, Larsen's Amazing World Reptiles, or Magician Rob Westcott, kids of all ages unearthed many stories at the library. MRLS wishes to thank everyone who visited the library this summer and made it one for the books! 📚🎉📚

Congratulations to our adult Summer Reading Challenge winners! Wanda Jones and Rebecca Archibald (Richardson Memorial Library) won gift cards from
Nature's Market & Cafe in Emporia, and Margaret Clary and Mackenzie Cook (Brunswick County Library) won lunch vouchers from The Story Cafe in Lawrenceville.

Every child who turned in a completed reading log was a winner! Each child received a certificate, small prize, free book, and a FREE kid's meal voucher from Chick-Fil-A Emporia.

Thank you to GreensvilleEmporia 4-H and the local businesses that supported our Summer Reading Program by providing prizes and incentives. Your generous support makes reading even more rewarding!

Get ready for Freeze Pop Friday! Stop by the Richardson Memorial Library on Friday, August 7th for a sweet treat (one freeze pop per person while supplies last, must be enjoyed outside of the library). Before students return to school next week, we want to celebrate a spectacular Summer Reading Program and thank all of the families who made the library part of their summer plans. We hope all of our students have a successful year full of learning and great books - we can't wait to see you back in the library throughout the school year!
