Lawrence Township Recreation Department
Bringing our community together year-round. From holiday celebrations to family fun days and programs for all ages, we are here for everyone in Lawrence Township. Every event and program is designed with the community in mind. We proudly host Community Day & Food Truck Festival, the Veterans Day Ceremony, the Memorial Day Parade, Independence Day Fireworks,

the 9/11 Ceremony, the Valentine’s Day Candle Walk, Trunk or Treat, the Spring Egg Hunt, the Holiday Tree Lighting, and our Halloween and Holiday House Decorating Contests, along with many more traditions that unite neighbors, families, and friends. Beyond special events, we offer year-round recreation programs including youth wrestling, youth basketball, the youth swim team, swim lessons, adult walking club, fitness and exercise classes, and summer camps, along with many more opportunities for recreation and learning. We also operate open swim, lap swim, and swim lessons on evenings and weekends at the Lawrence High School pool. The Anne Demarais Nature Center is proudly managed by the Recreation Department, and we continue to invest in parks and playground improvements across the township. We also collaborate with local youth organizations to support community programs and strengthen recreational opportunities. Our programs are designed for children, teens, adults, and seniors, creating opportunities to connect, grow, and belong. Community is at the heart of everything we do, and we invite you to be part of it.

⚾️ Batter up! Join the Lawrence Senior Center for a fun night at the ballpark as the Trenton Thunder take on the Aberdeen IronBirds!

For just $5 per ticket, enjoy an exciting evening of baseball, Baseball Bingo, donut floaties, and great company. Transportation is provided, so all you have to do is sit back, relax, and cheer on the home team!

Thank you to everyone who made our 2026 Safety Town season a success! 🛑🚦

A big thank you to our campers, volunteers, instructors, and families for an amazing summer of learning and fun. Campers learned valuable safety skills, including home and fire safety, how to call 911, and many other important lessons to help keep them safe every day.

A special thank you to the Lawrence Township Police Department and the Lawrenceville Fire Company for giving our campers tours of your stations and teaching them about your important work and safety. We also appreciate the Lawrence Township Health Department for their fun and educational presentation on sun safety, hygiene, and animal safety.

Thank you for making this another great Safety Town season. Have a safe summer! ☀️🚒🚓

Thank you to everyone who came out last night for the Lawrence Township fireworks event! It was great to see our community come together for such a wonderful evening.

A special thank you to the Lawrence Township NJ Police Department, Public Works Department, Fire Marshal, OEM, Fire Departments, Lawrence Township Emergency Medical Service,Lawrence Historical Society and the Lawrence Recreation Advisory Board Volunteers for helping make the event safe and successful.

We would also like to sincerely thank Rider University for allowing us to host this event on their beautiful campus. Their staff was wonderful to work with, and we truly appreciate their partnership and hospitality.

Thank you again to everyone who helped us make this year’s 250th Independence Day fireworks celebration a success!

Lawrence Township Fireworks are tonight at Rider University! 🎆

Due to the hot weather, please take precautions before heading out. Stay hydrated and drink water before you feel thirsty. Wear lightweight, loose, light-colored clothing. Take breaks when needed and move to a shaded or cooler area when possible.

Please watch for signs of heat-related illness, including heavy sweating, headache, dizziness, nausea, weakness, or muscle cramps. If you or someone with you starts to feel unwell, move to a cooler area and seek help right away. EMS and Police will be on site throughout the event if assistance is needed.

Let’s stay cool, stay safe, and enjoy a fun night of fireworks! 🇺🇸🎆
