Lawtey Fire Rescue Lawtey Fire Rescue is proud to provide fire and emergency medical services to the citizens of Lawte We average approximately 600 calls for service each year.

Lawtey Fire Rescue, located in Lawtey, Florida was established over 35 years ago. Lawtey Fire Rescue is dedicated to providing the best service possible to the citizens of the City of Lawtey, as well as those in surrounding areas. We operate four apparatus; two Engines, a Brush Truck, and a Tender. Our staff respond to medical emergencies, vehicle fires, structure fires, alarms, vehicle accidents,

At 3:39 PM, meteorologists were
tracking a strong thunderstorm near Camp Blanding, or near
Middleburg, moving northwest at 25 mph.

HAPPENING NOW- Firefighters from our department, Heilbronn Springs Fire Depatment and Starke Fire Depatment are currently on scene of a residential structure fire in the 3900 block of NW County Road 125. Firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze. Please use caution in this area as there is an influx of emergency vehicles in the area.

WEATHER ALERT- The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory until 6:00 PM for our area.

A Heat Advisory is issued when the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity creates heat indices of
108 degrees or higher.

Precautionary Actions:

- Drink plenty of fluids
- Remain out of the sun
- Check on relatives and neighbors who may be sensitive to heat related illnesses.
- Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing
- Drink plenty of water.

HAPPENING NOW- Engine 50 along with Firefighters from Heilbronn Springs Fire Department are currently on scene of an approximate acre woods fire in the area of the solid waste collection site on NW CR 229. Firefighters have contained the fire at this time. The Florida Forest Service is also on scene and assisting. Please use caution as there is an influx of emergency vehicles in the area.

The individual struck by the train is a 54 year old white male with an address in Middleburg,FL. His name is not being released until all proper notifications to immediately family is completed...

Emergency crews are investigating an incident in Lawtey involving a CSX Train and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was struck by the train and is deceased. The circumstances are being investigated. Please avoid the area of CR125 at the Railroad for the next few hours.

At 11:37 AM, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking a cluster of showers and thunderstorms over Worthington Springs, moving east at 25 mph.
