We are a NPO consisting of Noncommissioned Officers past and present, that have a true passion for leading Soldiers and developing our communitites! The meaning of Our Crest

The crest was designed by one of the original organizers of the club, Mr. The letters SAMC are an abbreviation for the "Sergeant Audie Murphy Club". The 3 stars separating the letters represent the "Be", "Know" and "Do" which

is at the core of an Army NCO's professional spirit. The majestic American Bald Eagle is the national bird and our country's symbol for freedom. The eagle also represents the intent of the SAMC to be nationwide. The laurel represents the individual achievement of the NCO in the club. The lightning bolt represents swift and decisive action taken by the NCO. The sword is a historical reference and is the symbolic tool of the NCO to cut to the heart of the matter and to lead the charge. Army staff sergeant stripes represent the highest enlisted rank attained by Audie Murphy. The powder-blue streamers, the color of the infantry, indicate the words of the NCO philosophy: Loyalty, Caring, Discipline, and Professionalism.

Leadership is not defined by rank alone—it is earned through excellence, service, and an unwavering commitment to developing others.

Congratulations to Staff Sgt. Jeremy Powell on his induction into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club (SAMC), joining a select group of noncommissioned officers recognized for exceptional leadership, military knowledge, and dedication to their communities.

Named in honor of Staff Sgt. Audie Murphy, the most decorated American Soldier of World War II, the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club represents the highest standards of the NCO Corps. Membership is earned through a demanding nomination and evaluation process that challenges candidates to demonstrate not only tactical and technical proficiency, but also character, professionalism, and a commitment to serving others.

As Staff Sgt. Powell said, “I want to become a better leader. I want to become a better person.” That mindset embodies the spirit of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club and reflects the legacy of those who continue to raise the standard for today’s Army.

Congratulations again, Staff Sgt. Powell, on this well-earned achievement. Leadership excellence is a legacy worth preserving.

🇺🇸 Independence Day | July 4, 1776 🇺🇸

On July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence, formally declaring that the thirteen American colonies were no longer subject to British rule. This act was more than a political statement—it was a commitment to the revolutionary idea that all people possess inherent rights and that governments derive their authority from the consent of the governed.

The road to independence was neither quick nor easy. Victory required years of sacrifice by soldiers, citizens, and families who endured hardship, uncertainty, and loss in pursuit of a nation founded on liberty and self-determination. Their resolve established the foundation upon which generations of Americans have continued to build and defend.

For those who wear the uniform today, Independence Day carries a unique significance. It serves as a reminder that the freedoms enjoyed by our nation have never been guaranteed—they have been preserved through the dedication, professionalism, and selfless service of generations who answered the call before us.

As we celebrate with family, friends, and our communities, let us also reflect on the history that brought us here, honor those who secured our independence, remember those who have defended it since, and reaffirm our commitment to the ideals that continue to unite our nation.

From all of us at the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club – Fort Sill, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Independence Day.

Happy Fourth of July, and God bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸
