Lawton Fire & Rescue

Lawton Fire & Rescue The Lawton Community Fire Department has 30 volunteers, along with up to 4 student firefighters! Chief’s. Also the Chief assigns 4 Lieutenant positions yearly.

100% volunteer fire and rescue department made up of 28 individuals and complimented by a student firefighter program. The Departments administration is made up of yearly elected officials including Fire Chief, 1st & 2nd Assistant Fire Chief’s and Secretary/Treasurer positions.
2 Captain positions are appointed by the Chief and the Asst. The department members are also assigned to a Captain & Li

eutenants team (Red, Blue, Orange & Green Teams). Students are also assigned to a team. Monthly meeting are held on the third monday of each month at 7PM. Training sessions are scheduled on the 4th Wednesday of the month with other random special training sessions planned throughout the year. Monthly station duty inspections are completed by each of the Lieutenant teams. We utilize all the grant writing opportunities we can find available to secure monies for equipment and training. We also rely on donations to help off-set costs for training & equipment needed by the department district.

We want to share this notification with our community, technology can and will fail periodically. We want everyone to remember that self preservation is your responsibility we can all get notified by several means, last night storm alerts from TV, radio, County EMA, weather apps, or even phone services all keep us alerted to approaching weather. The city is working with our local dispatch center to address the issue at hand. We are glad that we had no persons injured from the violent weather, let be careful with the ongoing cleanup effort.

LFD wants to remind our citizens about the traffic changes coming to Highways 20 east of town. We ask that everyone pays close attention, slows down and gives extra space through the construction zone, this will be a two year project as they replace the roadway. Thank you!
