Construction / Traffic PSA for Parkridge and Lee Blvd.

We get it, construction zones can be frustrating. Extra turns, detours, and delays are not anyone’s favorite part of the day.

However, we've recently received reports of drivers ignoring posted signs, making prohibited turns, and even driving into oncoming traffic to reach their destination. While the construction may be inconvenient, risking a crash is not worth saving a few minutes.

The signs in construction zones are there for a reason. They help protect drivers, construction crews, and everyone else sharing the road. Please take a moment to follow the posted traffic controls and use the designated detour routes.

The good news? The construction won't last forever. The choices we make behind the wheel can have lasting consequences.

What a great day spent with some of the men and women who helped shape the history of the Lawton Police Department.

This past Saturday the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 98 hosted its annual Retiree Qualification Shoot, giving retired LPD officers the opportunity to qualify with their fi****ms, reconnect with old friends, and share stories from their years of service.

Events like this are about more than qualification. They are about fellowship, friendship, and honoring the people who dedicated their careers to protecting our community. Seeing former officers gather, laugh, reminisce, and catch up reminds us that once you're part of the Lawton Police Department family, you're always part of the family.

A special thank you to FOP Lodge 98 for providing lunch and making this event possible. We are proud of our retirees, grateful for their service, and thankful they continue to be an important part of our department.

Stay safe Lawton Ft. Sill.
