๐Ÿšซ PLEASE HELP PROTECT OUR NEW PICKLEBALL COURTS ๐Ÿšซ

We have recently had an issue with kids rollerblading on our newly coated and painted pickleball courts.

Rollerblading, skateboarding, scooters, bicycles, and similar activities are NOT permitted on the pickleball courts. These activities can scratch, scuff, and damage the new playing surface.

The Village has made a significant investment in improving these courts for our community, and we want to keep them in great condition for everyone to enjoy for years to come.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Parents, please help us by talking with your children and reminding them that the courts are for pickleball use only.

We want our kids to be outside, active, and enjoying our parksโ€”we just ask that they use the appropriate areas for rollerblading, bikes, scooters, and other activities.

Please help us protect this new community investment.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us take care of our Village parks!

Have fun, play safe, and enjoy your time on the courts! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŽพ

๐Ÿšจ The Lawton Police Department is requesting the public's assistance. ๐Ÿšจ

We are asking for help identifying the male pictured in connection with a hit-and-run incident. He may be driving a newer model white GMC or Chevrolet double cab pickup truck that may have new damage on the passenger-side rear, near the rear tire.

If you recognize this individual or have any information that may assist in this investigation, please contact the Lawton Police Department at 269-624-2382.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping keep our community safe.

Unfortunately, the Splash Pad is currently out of service (again) due to vandalism causing damage to one of the water features.

We know this is disappointing, especially during the warm weather, and our team is working to make repairs as quickly as possible. We kindly ask everyone to help us take care of community spaces so they can remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Weโ€™ll share updates once it is back up and running.

It's going to be a hot weekend, and we expect the Splash Pad to be busy with families looking to cool off. Please be respectful of others and help us keep this community asset open and enjoyable for everyone by not engaging in the behavior shown in this video.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation and support. Have a wonderful weekend, stay cool, and enjoy the Splash Pad responsibly!

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING UTILITY BILL DUE DATE

The Village of Lawton has implemented a new utility billing cycle that provides residents with approximately 30 days to make payment, rather than the previous 18-day billing period. Under the new schedule, utility bills will be due one day before the next billing cycle begins.

Due to a system error, the due date printed on the current utility bills is incorrect. Although your bill may show a due date of June 25, 2026, the correct due date for this billing cycle is:

July 8, 2026

Payments received after July 8, 2026 will be subject to the standard 10% late penalty.

We apologize for any confusion this may cause and appreciate your patience as we transition to the new billing schedule. If you have any questions, please contact Village Hall at 269.624.6407
