This weeks Hometown Hero is Bryndee Morrell!

Bryndee is a dedicated public servant whose work ethic, leadership, and commitment to helping others have made a lasting impact on both her coworkers and the community. She began her career with Layton City as a lifeguard at Surf n' Swim and quickly distinguished herself through her positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to lead. Through hard work and dedication, she advanced to Lifeguard Supervisor and ultimately Head Lifeguard, where she excelled as a mentor and trainer for new employees. While working for the City, she pursued her EMT certification and later achieved her goal of becoming a firefighter with Layton City. Her passion for fitness, service, and personal growth, combined with her unwavering commitment to helping others, make her an outstanding example of a Hometown Hero.

Come enjoy the last evening of FEST this season at Layton Commons Park this Friday, August 28th, 5:30-9:30. Enjoy fun, live entertainment, shopping, and food trucks. After dinner, head over to the Amphitheater for the Free Friday Film "Lilo & Stitch.” The Layton Fest Food Truck Lineup is: Bombdilla, Mama’s Toasted Cheeser, Bad Boy Burger, Chicho’s, Fries By Six, Fry Me to the Moon, Slow Drawl BBQ, Aloha Drinks.

What is Cross Connection Control?
Cross connection control helps prevent contaminants from entering the public drinking water system through improper connections between clean water and non-potable water sources.
What is Backflow Protection?
Backflow protection uses devices that stop water from flowing in the wrong direction, helping keep contaminants out of the drinking water supply.
Why is it Important?
Backflow can happen due to changes in water pressure and may allow chemicals, bacteria, or other pollutants to enter the water system. Backflow protection helps safeguard public health and ensures safe, clean drinking water for our community.
This is the first post in our Backflow Prevention Education Series. Over the coming weeks, we'll explain how backflow devices work, who needs them, testing requirements, and simple ways we can all help protect our community's drinking water. Protecting our water is a shared responsibility.
