Fireworks Update – June 26
Layton City is aware of Governor Cox's Executive Order issued yesterday regarding fireworks restrictions during the current extreme fire conditions.
We are currently reviewing the Executive Order and gathering additional information from the Utah State Forester and our state partners. The State Forester has not yet issued the specific closure order identifying affected areas.
As soon as that information becomes available, Layton City will provide updated guidance on what these changes mean for our community and where fireworks may or may not be permitted.
We appreciate your patience as we work through this rapidly evolving situation. Our priority remains protecting the safety of our residents while providing timely and accurate information.

We’ve already seen multiple **Red Flag Warning days**, and we will likely continue to see more over the foreseeable future.

As you know, there are already **several large wildfires burning across Utah**, and conditions are primed for rapid fire spread.

🔥 **Now is the time to be extremely careful.** One spark can start another fire we don’t need.

Let’s work together to prevent any more wildfires from starting in our area. Please avoid open flames, be mindful outdoors, and report smoke immediately.

Layton City’s official fireworks display will take place at Commons Park on July 4th at 10:00 p.m, safety permitting.
As we enter fireworks season, please remember that fireworks are prohibited in all Layton City parks, including Andy Adams and Sandridge Parks.
Personal fireworks may be discharged from July 2nd to July 5th between 11:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., with extended hours until midnight on July 4th.
