Registration for the 4th of July 5K fun run is now open. Register to walk or run. There is also a “More Fun Less Run” available for kids. They run ¼ of a mile with fun activities along the way. Start your holiday out with some exercise and family fun! Register at https://www.laytoncity.org/LC/Recreation for $20 until June 22nd. After that date, registration will be $40.

Spock’s Skate Camp welcomes boys and girls ages 6-14 of all skill levels! This program emphasizes skatepark etiquette, safety, and fundamental skateboard skills in a controlled environment. Participants must bring their own skateboard, and helmets, elbow pads, and knee pads are required. The camp runs in sessions throughout the summer, with classes held on Wednesdays from 9 AM to 11 AM at Ellison Skate Park.

We are grateful for an amazing team here at the Layton Fire and Layton Police Departments. We appreciate your service!

Yesterday, the Layton Fire and Layton Police Departments responded to a residential structure fire in the area of Hill Villa and Main Street. The incident was a reminder of the courage, professionalism, and dedication displayed by our Fire Department every day.

Upon arrival, fire personnel faced multiple challenges: an active residential fire, reports of an animal stuck inside, and a downed, live power line threatening multiple residents and a nearby restaurant. Despite dangerous conditions, firefighters entered the burning home and located the dog, who was unresponsive and not breathing. Through their quick action, training, and determination, they successfully revived the dog and transported it to a nearby Emergency Veterinary clinic.

Incidents like this highlight the selfless commitment our firefighters make to protect lives - both human and animal - while putting themselves in harm's way.

On behalf of the Police Department, we want to extend our sincere appreciation and recognition to the Layton Fire Department for their outstanding work, teamwork, and dedication to serving our community. Thank you for all you do!

Habitat for Humanity Affordable Homeownership Program

To receive an application and learn about the program requirements, all interested applicants are invited to attend an upcoming Community Information Session.
During these sessions, participants will:
• Learn about Habitat’s Affordable Homeownership Program
• Review program qualifications and expectations
• Understand the application process and timeline
• Have the opportunity to ask questions
• Receive a home ownership application
Habitat will be hosting 4 Community Information Sessions, and attendance at one session is required in order to move forward in the application process.

Cool off this summer at the splash pad at Ellison Park (700 N 2200 W Layton, UT 84041), open Monday–Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. all summer long.
The splash pad features a state-of-the-art water treatment and recycling system designed to keep the water clean, safe, and environmentally friendly. Water is filtered, treated, and sanitized with ultra-violet light before being recycled back through the play system, helping conserve water while providing a fun experience for families.
The splash pad is button operated. To activate the water features, simply press the button located near the splash pad area.
