We have been a little quiet over here as we prep for fall programs and events (and for me to take a little break after summer reading😁). We have some AMAZING programs lined up this fall season. I wanted to share a few upcoming ones to add to your calendars.

Tuesday, September 1st at 6PM: The Plot Thickens Book Club (Sept) - If you ever wanted to join a book club, our book club is SO MUCH FUN! We alternate back and forth between you choose months (you pick your own book following a theme) and group read months (we all read the same book). This is a great book club if you don't know if you are able to commit to attending every month. Our book club takes place the first Tuesday of the month at 6PM.

Saturday, September 12th from 9AM-12PM: Sensory Saturdays at the Library 🌟NEW PROGRAM🌟 Once a month, we will have a Sensory Saturday were kids and famlies can play, explore, and learn with different engaging sensory stations at your own pace during open hours. There will be different stations every month. Other dates for Sensory Saturdays are Oct. 10th, Nov. 14th, and Dec. 12th.

We had a great time yesterday creating personalized felt prize ribbons during our monthly adult crafting sessions! We cut, we sewed, we hot glued, and we had a blast!

Our next adult craft is on Tuesday, September 22nd with Story Maps - registration is required (link coming soon or send me an email/message and I’ll add you once registration is live).

The post that everyone is waiting for..... the GRAND PRIZE WINNERS! Congratulations to all the winners!

We had OVER 300 kids, tweens, and teens complete our summer reading challenges! Hundreds upon hundreds of books read this summer! Thank you to our amazing Summer Reading Sponsors for supporting us with these fantastic grand prizes.

Thank you everyone for yet another memorable summer! We had a blast reading new stories, learning new skills, celebrating Dinosaurs, and having fun at the library. In two months we had 44 programs that were attended by over 3,000 kids, teens, and adults! This number is mind boggling!!!

Of course, I couldn’t have done it alone. A heartfelt thank you to our fantastic library staff, volunteers, and community groups who came together to help create a summer to remember.

A very special thank you to our sponsors: Friends of the Le Sueur Public Library, Treasures In Town, Le Sueur Lions Club, United Fund of Le Sueur, Manke Foundation, and the Jo and Veronica Anderson Family Foundation. Without support by these sponsors we couldn’t have created the summer we did! Their financial support allowed us to put on special programs (such as the PokĂ©mon Party, Petal to the Metal Workshop, Foam Party, and many others), offer amazing free books and grand prizes (winners announced later this week), and provide free transit to both Kid’s Club and the public.

For the next couple of weeks the library will be a little quieter as we reset and start prepping for my favorite season of all - FALL!

We celebrated the ending of our Summer Reading Program with our popular Foam Party! While the weather wasn’t the best, we still rocked out to great music and millions and millions of bubbles! Thank you to all who participated in this year’s events and reading challenges - it was a summer to remember.

Even though it's raining, our foam experts are here and setting up! I will be just inside the library if you want to hand in finished reading logs and sheets. Come down and make some great rainy memories!
