They are also the first yard to get our new Yard of the Month sign which lights up at night - special thanks to Price Contracting Solutionsfor the donation! โœจ

April through December of each year, we are happy to reward the YARD OF THE MONTH award to a home in Leachville who puts a lot of love and time into their yard and grounds. Having a beautiful yards is not only aesthetically pleasing but also holds significant importance. Spaces and yards like this ๏ฟผreally help beautify our town.

The City of Keiser is doing a great job going after national grants for their town! Bringing in monies for their town from a national level!

โ€œThis is why a townโ€™s leadership can make huge a difference. Instead of going after the lowest hanging fruit or whatโ€™s convenient for them to take locally, the City of Kaiser is going after big monies from a national level and bringing in those national dollars into their town to fund community projects. Results: 94% in favor, 6% not in favor.

Over 100+ responses recorded in 5 day period.

The LBC Board of Commissioners will take this data (which shows an overwhelming support for this splash-pad project) and we will review it as a board to take possible next steps toward getting this one-cent temporary sales tax on the ballot for the citizens to vote on, possibly as soon as November. There are a few different ways you can get something on the ballot:

1) You can go to the City Council and ask them to put it on the ballot.

2) If council doesn't support putting it on the ballot, the people of Leachville can petition it to be on the ballot by getting 15% of the number of people who voted in the last mayoral race (which was in 2022 & had a total of 420 votes) to sign a petition asking for the issue to be placed on the ballot. That means, we would need to only collect 63 petition signers to get this put onto the ballot for November.

A new storefront sign is coming to Blunt Needle Sewing Co. thanks to our "Open on Main" Initiative! Since their old sign was damaged by winds, we are replacing it with a new, much sturdier welded "blade" style sign! This initiative is funded and made possible by a grant from Jerred Price and his company, Price Contracting Solutions!

When you choose to open your business in the Historic District of Downtown Leachville, our initiative will welcome you to the neighbohrood with a storefront sign and will help ensure your success by offering the following:

โ€ข Business planning assistance!
โ€ข Website creation!
โ€ข Help with launching of a robust social media presence!
โ€ข Free logo with design support!
โ€ข Ribbon cutting ceremony & press coverage!
โ€ข Plus, a FREE storefront sign to get you started!

So far, this initiative has helped AB's Design and Lumber Co., Barks-N-Bubbles, Twigs & Stems Floral Design + More, and Blunt Needle Sewing Co.! It also has pending plans to install a new storefront sign for Kyle Thrasher Accounting Services very soon!
