UPDATED INFORMATION ABOUT OUR RESPONSE TO RESCUES!!

After further discussion with medical professionals, effective immediately, Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery IS NOT RESPONDING TO PUBLIC REQUESTS FOR HELP in order to keep our volunteers safe during this ongoing pandemic.

We are only responding to official requests from local, state, or federal agencies.

We are also still responding to official requests for critical care personnel transport to their place of work made by their employer.

It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that the public heavily weigh their decision to travel into the back country for the foreseeable future. It is critical that if you travel, you travel prepared. Travel with other vehicles capable of self-recovery. Travel with friends knowledgeable in self-recovery. Have the means to stay with your vehicle, possibly for days, and be prepared to hike out if necessary! Have proper clothing, food, water, medications, etc etc to sustain yourself.

IT IS IMPORTANT EVERYONE TAKES THIS SERIOUSLY! Help may not come in a timely manner with the ongoing pandemic! Your decisions directly affect the health and welfare of the 1st responders volunteering to rescue you, and that response could be substantially delayed.

We'll have coffee, hot chocolate, some other treats and a RESTROOM. Just off trail 5. Even if you're not riding, stop and say hi anyway. take a look at some of our equipment and give us a distraction from our chores! The red "X" marks our approximate location.

We've had numerous callouts in the past several weeks for lost or stranded parties. Please make sure if you must venture out that you are prepared. Or, better yet, reconsider your choice to travel unimproved or unmaintained roads. Snowy conditions and frigid temps have given way to milder conditions that have turned some roads into ice rinks. Be careful out there!
