Regular business hours will resume Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

🗑️ Garbage service will be pushed back one day due to the holiday.

This cat was found near Houston St and Pavillion St this morning 09/02/2026. The Lead Police department took the cat to the twin city animal shelter. Please contact Lead City Hall if you are missing your cat, or may know who it belongs too. Thank you!

Allow a little extra time for increased school traffic, be especially cautious around schools and crosswalks, and always stop for school buses when required.

If you’ve enjoyed all the beautiful flowers and landscaping around town this summer, these are some of the hardworking people behind it! 💐

Through the long days and summer heat, this crew worked hard watering, caring for flowers, and helping keep our community looking beautiful, welcoming, and something we can all be proud of.

It takes a lot of work behind the scenes to keep everything looking as great as it does, and we couldn’t let summer come to an end without recognizing them.

Thank you to our Parks Staff for your hard work, dedication, and for helping make our town shine all summer long! 🌺🌿☀️

🚧 WASHINGTON AREA WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION UPDATE 🚧

We apologize for the inconvenience, but there are several additional addresses that will be without water today August 26th at 9:00 AM while crews work to repair the water leak.

💧 Areas affected include:
• Cyanide Street
• Searle Street
• Short Street
• Additional addresses in the surrounding area will include the 1200 block of Washington, a small part of Grandview, Elkhorn, Irwin, Gushurst, Billings, Fox, Old Abe, East, Cross, Anderson, and Mine Street.

Crews will be working to make the necessary repairs and restore water service as quickly as possible.
