Located in Real County, Texas, White Buffalo Ridge is adjacent to the old Large Ranch, which was ground zero in the 1950s for the Russian Boar explosion in the Edwards Plateau region.
At the time, Large Ranch imported a large number of Russian Boars with the intent of relocating them to another game ranch.
The Russians escaped prior to departure and rapidly populated the surrounding ridge-tops and canyons.
