🖤❤️💚💛 Happy Juneteenth!🖤❤️💚 💛

Today we honor freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.
On June 19, 1865, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom. Juneteenth marks that powerful moment—and reminds us that the fight for justice and equity is still ongoing.

One of our favorite annual traditions is back! 👟
🛻 Stuff the Truck returns this July! 🛻

LISD schools will once again go head-to-head to collect the most shoes for local students in need, all competing for the coveted shoe trophy and ultimate bragging rights.

We’re collecting brand-new, name-brand athletic shoes in all sizes, with the biggest need being smaller children’s sizes.
Start watching for those summer sales and help us make a difference for local kids as they head back to school! 💙

Stuff the Truck will take place on Thursday, July 16 from 9am - 10:30am at Toyota of Cedar Park!
Can't wait to see you there!

☀️🥫 Help Local Families Stay Fed and Cool This Summer! 🥫☀️

The Leander Police Department is teaming up with our Food Pantry for the Cans & Fans Drive, happening June 8–20.

Community members are invited to donate:
✅ Non-perishable canned food items
✅ New box fans

These simple donations can make a meaningful difference for families facing food insecurity and rising summer temperatures.

Donating is easy—just drop off your items at the Leander Police Department, located at 705 Leander Drive, Leander, TX, during the collection period.

Together, we can help ensure our neighbors have the resources they need to stay nourished and comfortable this summer. Thank you for supporting our community! ❤️

Want to start your morning making a difference? Become a volunteer food pick-up driver. Using your own vehicle, you’ll collect donations around 7:30am from generous partners such as HEB, Randalls, and Whole Foods, then deliver them to our pantry to help stock shelves for families in need.

Because of the large volume of food we rescue, pickup trucks are especially helpful, though volunteers with other vehicles are also welcome. Every donation you transport helps ensure our pantry can continue serving neighbors throughout the community.

It’s a small commitment with a big impact. Join us in turning surplus food into hope for local families.

Need a little Monday Morning Motivation?

Aristotle said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” When it comes to living a positive lifestyle, our habits either make or break us. Habits decide our physical health, emotional well being and even our outlook on life.

But when it’s time to start a new healthy habit, it can be pretty difficult.
If you’re interested in starting a habit that you can actually stick with, check out these useful tips.

Every month, HCCM receives tens of thousands of pounds of produce, along with dry goods, canned goods, and meat. But where does that come from? Well, most of it arrives in our parking lot before 7am every Monday and Wednesday. But it doesn’t just wander its way into our coolers on its own. Someone must carry it and help organize it, and let me tell you, it takes multiple people to achieve this task every week.

Our Food Distribution Manager, Corbin Sherman has several people and organizations he wanted to thank personally for consistently showing up early and volunteering selflessly week to week.

See who he mentions here: https://hccm.org/news-events/archived-blogs.html/article/2025/05/27/early-bird-gets-the-truck
