📚 Filing is officially closed for the LISD School Board race, and I now have two opponents in this race. I need your support more than ever.

I know there will be plenty of political noise during this election. We’ve already heard narratives about “foreign influence” in our schools and calls to remove books from our libraries.

But that’s not why I’m running.

Most weekends, my house is full of kids learning to build robots or write code, figuring things out, trying again when something doesn’t work, and learning from each other. I’ve watched these kids grow in confidence because they were given the opportunity to explore what they love because of our local public schools.

That’s what I want for every LISD student.

I’ve also had the opportunity to serve on the LISD Curriculum Committee, where I’ve listened to educators, parents, and community members. I want us to keep our focus on strong academics while making sure our kids are ready for a world that is changing faster than ever.

That’s why I believe this election should be about our students and educators, not political agendas.

Leander ISD is one of the reasons families choose to live here. Our local public schools help give our children a foundation for their future, and I believe those opportunities are worth protecting and strengthening.

🏫 Every day counts for our kids.

I attended the LISD Board meeting on Monday, where the 2026–27 tax rate and the impact of VATRE on taxpayers were discussed. If approved by the voters, the VATRE would increase the M&O portion of LISD's 2026-27 tax rate by three cents.

One thing that stood out to me was the Administration’s continued effort to evaluate opportunities to increase revenue and strengthen the District’s financial position.

But as parents and community members, we have a role to play too.

One thing we can do today is help our kids attend school consistently. Every day in the classroom matters—not only for learning and connection, but also because student attendance impacts the funding available to our schools.

When a child becomes disengaged, the impact can be felt both academically and across the resources needed to support students. The longer a student is disconnected, the harder it can be to get them back on track.

As a parent and candidate for the LISD School Board, I believe we should keep asking:

What can we do today to make our schools stronger tomorrow?
