In recognition of National Police Week, our office proudly wore blue to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of the law enforcement officers who protect and serve our communities each day.

We are grateful for the dedication of the officers who work tirelessly for the public’s safety and we are honored to work alongside them on a daily basis.

This week, and every week, we extend our sincere appreciation to law enforcement and we especially remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Today, the Russell County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and the Russell County Victim Witness Assistance Program staff wore black and red in recognition of Homicide Awareness as we close out National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

We remember and honor the lives lost to violence, and we stand with the families and loved ones who continue to carry that loss every day. Their stories matter, and their voices deserve to be heard.

As a community, we can support one another through compassion, awareness, and a commitment to justice. Together, we remember, we support, and we advocate.

Today, the Russell County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and the Russell County Victim Witness Assistance Program staff proudly wore teal in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

Sexual violence impacts millions of individuals each year, affecting people of all ages, backgrounds, and communities. Today, we stand with survivors, honor their strength, and support their healing.

As a community, we can make a difference by listening, believing, and advocating for those affected. If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out — you are not alone.

Today, the Russell County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office and the Russell County Victim Witness Assistance Program staff proudly wore red in support of DUI Awareness for National Crime Victims' Rights Week.

Every 39 minutes, one person is killed in a crash involving an alcohol-impaired driver in the United States — approximately 37 lives lost every day.

We honor the victims, support the survivors, and stand with the families whose lives have been forever changed. As a community, we all play a role in preventing impaired driving.
Please make safe choices and help keep our roads safe for everyone.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

Our program along with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and Russell County Sheriff’s Office would really like to thank Russell County Public Schools for allowing us to display our silent witnesses for domestic violence awareness! These silhouettes represent the women, men, and children whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence.

This year’s national theme is “With Survivors, Always.” It’s a reminder that standing with survivors means listening, believing, and working together to build safer communities.

We invite everyone to wear purple on Wednesday, October 16th to show your support for survivors of domestic violence and to honor those who are no longer with us. 💜

Together, we can raise awareness, inspire hope, and stand united with survivors, always.
