Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness gave us the freedoms we enjoy each day.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we also pause to reflect on those who never made it home and the families who continue to carry their memory.

From all of us at Wilson County 911, we extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen heroes and to all who have served. 🇺🇸

🌟Behind every successful outcome is teamwork, training, and dedication.🌟

On the evening of May 13, we were proud to be part of the recognition of a collaborative group of first responders and public safety professionals who received the Star of Life Award, sponsored in part by the Children’s Emergency Care Alliance of Tennessee, for a mutual aid response. The Star of Life Award honors individuals and agencies who demonstrate exceptional dedication, teamwork, and commitment to positive outcomes during critical incidents.

This recognition reflects the collective efforts of personnel from Wilson Emergency Management Agency (WEMA), Wilson County 911, Wilson County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), Air Evac Lifeteam, Sumner County Emergency Management Agency, Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), Wilson County Emergency Services Rehab Association, Sumner County EMS, Sumner County Emergency Communications, the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).

To our telecommunicators and all responding agencies — thank you. Thank you for the professionalism, compassion, teamwork, and dedication you bring to this profession every day. These incidents remind us that emergency response is never the work of one person or one agency alone. It takes coordination, trust, training, and a shared commitment to serving others during some of the hardest moments imaginable.

This is why we do what we do.

At Wilson County 911, we continue to build and strengthen our training program around national standards and industry best practices because every call deserves our very best. Every policy, every hour of training, every scenario, and every effort toward professional excellence is rooted in one purpose: seeking the best possible outcome for our citizens and visitors when they need us most.

We are incredibly proud of everyone involved and honored to stand alongside such dedicated public safety partners.

🚨🚨BREAKING NEWS 🚨🚨

We have achieved the prestigious APCO Training program Accreditation again! In 2023, we earned our first accreditation through the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials Agency Training Program Accreditation (APCO ATPA). Now, we’ve done what matters even more—we’ve maintained it. This accomplishment reflects the diligence, professionalism, and commitment of our team.

Our training program wasn’t built overnight. It was developed over hundreds of hours through experience, evaluation, and a commitment to doing it right. Every piece of it is intentional and reflects a deliberate approach to preparing people for the responsibility that comes with wearing the headset.

Sorry, y'all, but it's going to be stormy well into the night.
