Celebrating Our Future Workforce!

Lebanon Public Schools is proud to recognize six outstanding students who were honored at General Dynamics Electric Boat's 2026 Groton Signing Day at the Garde Arts Center!

These students have demonstrated dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to developing the technical and professional skills needed to succeed in one of Connecticut's most important industries. Their recognition represents more than a job opportunity, it marks the beginning of promising careers in advanced manufacturing, engineering support, and skilled trades that help build our nation's submarine fleet.

Yesterday's celebration was a testament to the power of career-connected learning and the strong partnerships between our schools, industry leaders, and workforce development organizations. Through experiences in our career pathways and technical programs, students are discovering opportunities that lead directly to meaningful careers after graduation.

We are incredibly proud of these students for taking this exciting next step and representing Lebanon with pride. Their success reflects our commitment to ensuring every student is prepared for learning, life, and work beyond school.

Please join us in congratulating these future Electric Boat team members and wishing them continued success as they embark on this exciting journey!

Our ASTE students brought learning to life at Lebanon Elementary School during a special Sunflower Challenge planting event!

Students had the opportunity to work side-by-side with our Agricultural Science & Technology Education students as they planted sunflower seeds, explored the growing process, and got their hands dirty in the best way possible. From filling pots with soil to watering their newly planted seeds, our youngest learners experienced the joy of hands-on learning and meaningful mentorship.

This collaboration is a wonderful example of how Lebanon Public Schools continues to grow learners, cultivate leaders, and create legacies through authentic experiences and cross-grade connections. A huge thank you to our ASTE students and staff for organizing such a fun and engaging activity for our elementary students!

We can’t wait to see those sunflowers bloom!

Lebanon Public Schools students had an incredible experience at the Manufacturing Career Field Trip!

Students had the opportunity to connect directly with local manufacturing employers, learning about career pathways, workplace opportunities, and the many benefits these companies offer their employees. We are especially excited to share that two of our students earned interviews with potential employers as a result of the event!

Beyond networking, students participated in a variety of engaging, hands-on learning experiences including:
πŸ”Ή Mock interviews with personalized feedback to strengthen interview skills
πŸ”Ή A LEGO blueprint and assembly competition to test teamwork and problem-solving
πŸ”Ή A financial literacy presentation focused on real-world readiness
πŸ”Ή Nine different VR career exploration activities
πŸ”Ή Hands-on experiences inside a mobile manufacturing lab

This event provided students with meaningful exposure to high-demand career opportunities while helping them build important workforce readiness skills. Experiences like this continue to support our mission to prepare every student for learning, life, and work beyond school.

Thank you to the organizers, presenters, and local industry partners who made this amazing experience possible for our students!

πŸŒ±πŸ” Our students had an incredible day at the Yellow Farmhouse Education Center!

From touring the farm and learning about spring crops ready for harvest, to discovering the benefits of worm composting, the day was packed with hands-on learning and unforgettable experiences. Students even had the opportunity to meet and hold some very well-behaved chickens! 🐣

The adventure continued with a tadpole search at the pond before students worked together to prepare a delicious lunch featuring pea-pesto pasta, Caesar salad, and lilac cookies. 🍝πŸ₯—πŸͺ

Best of all, the rain held off and a great time was had by all! Experiences like these bring learning to life and help our students connect classroom lessons to the world around them.
