Engine 16, Engine 19, and Truck 20 responded to this fire, originally dispatched as an automatic fire alarm, earlier today. The Engines arrived with nothing evident on the street side, the Truck located smoke showing from the Delta side, and one line handled the fire.

A career recall was struck for additional personnel to handle any other emergencies in the city.

*Public Safety Announcement*

Effective immediately Lebanon City Fire Station 1, located at 700 South 8th Street, is closed for a long-term renovation project. No fire department personnel will be present at this fire station until the project is completed. Your Lebanon City Career Firefighters will still be continuously providing services during this time period, utilizing Fire Station 2 and Fire Station 4.

Fire Station 2 is located at 909 Mifflin Street and Fire Station 4 is located at 400 Lehman Street. Members will maintain staffing on two fire engines and one ladder truck at all times. In the event of any emergencies please dial 911. Another post will be made when the renovation project has been completed and operations return to normal.

Our members were kept busy overnight, responding to two structure fires and a vehicle accident with entrapment.

Just after 11PM crews were sent to the 500 block of Weidman Street for reports of smoke in multiple homes. Engine 19 arrived and secured their own water supply, followed by Ladder 18 and Engine 16. Our members quickly located and extinguished all fire and Deputy 15 placed the incident under control a short time later.

Just after 530AM the same crews were sent to the 800 block of Chestnut Street for an automatic fire alarm. Upon arrival no smoke or fire could be seen from the exterior of the building, but multiple additional activations were being received. Members located a working fire on the first floor and worked to quickly evacuate the densely occupied apartment building above. Deputy 15 requested the second alarm and career firefighter recall, and the fire was extinguished with one line.

Before the six on-duty members could clear the second fire, Lebanon County DES advised of an accident with entrapment being reported in the 100 block of Weidman Street. Engine 16 and Ladder 18 cleared the fire scene to respond, along with Engine 17 from Fire Station 1 (recall personnel). Crews assisted one occupant from a vehicle that had rolled over before clearing the scene.

It has been a steady evening for the career firefighters of Lebanon City! Since 630PM our 7 on-duty members have handled 13 calls for service.

Overnight our members responded to a working residential fire in the 200 block of South 8th Street. Engine 16, Engine 23, and Truck 20 operated and the incident was placed under control quickly. Captain 15 held the command and RIT 48 with a career firefighter recall were also requested.

While members were operating at this fire, a second reported fire was dispatched. Engine 23, staffed with two firefighters, left the first fire to respond, along with mutual aid volunteer companies. Upon arrival the issue was quickly mitigated and the assignment was reduced.

Seven members working for both of these incidents.

Engine 16, Engine 21, and Truck 20 are currently operating in the 700 block of Cumberland Street at a working fire. Units arrived with fire showing from the rear, and command just struck the third alarm.

*Working Fire*

Engine 21, Engine 16, and Truck 20 are currently operating in the 500 block of Lehman Street on a working fire. Engine 21 has one line in service, the career recall has been struck. At dispatch Engine 16 was still operating at a large dumpster fire in the 600 block of Quentin Road. This is the fifth structure fire dispatch in 24 hours that our members have responded to!

*Working Fire*

Just before 3AM members were sent to the 200 block of South 9th Street on an investigation inside, for the smoke odor in a duplex. Truck 18 and Engine 16 arrived to find an odor in the street, with smoke showing around the windows on the first floor of the address next to the reporting party’s home. Truck 18 forced entry, while Engine 16 stretched a line, and Engine 23 arrived to assist with securing a water supply. The six on-duty members located fire in the basement and performed searches simultaneously. Captain 15 requested RIT and an off-duty recall, and upon arriving on the scene, Chief 15 then requested the full second alarm assignment. The fire was extinguished with one line, a second was stretched but not utilized, and crews cleared the scene in approximately two hours.
