The Annual New Year's Eve Bologna Drop will be held on December 31, 2020, at midnight. Due to Governor Wolf's Order limiting the size of outdoor gatherings, this year's event will be held virtually. The event is NOT open to the public and will be held virtually at an undisclosed location and live streamed on the City's page, "City of Lebanon, PA Government", beginning at 11:50 p.m.

This year's event is being sponsored by Godshall's Quality Meats, maker of Kutztown and Weaver's Bologna; UPMC, Big Bold Ideas, Tom B. Morrisey, E&E Fabrications, Lebanon Farmers Market, the Lebanon Foundation, and the City of Lebanon.

The bologna will drop at midnight. The bologna will be processed at the Weaver Plant and Godshall's Quality Meats will donate the bologna to the Lebanon Rescue Mission.

We are excited to be working with the Downtown Lebanon Main Street to bring a fun fall activity into the downtown. The Scarecrow Contest is open to all individuals, groups, non-profits and businesses. Register by September 25 to participate.

My Office has received requests to hold a community meeting to discuss police related items. A meeting was planned, however, due to evolving COVID-19 mitigation measures, I have had to change my approach a few times. The latest plan involved an in-person conversation with social distancing and capacity limits in place at a larger venue than City Council Chambers, which is limited to approximately 16 attendees. The meeting is proposed to be held in the auditorium of the Lebanon County-City Municipal Building where we can fit up to 57 individuals.

Unfortunately, due to the Governor’s July 15th Order, that plan was cancelled and we are now back to a gathering limitation of a total of 25 people. This is a conversation that I believe needs to be held in-person and not via Zoom. This is an important conversation to be had. We have great information to share. Although there is always room for improvement, our Police Department is a well-trained, well- disciplined organization with policies in place to represent our community fairly and justly. I believe waiting a few more weeks will be a benefit for all involved so please stay tuned for a “Community Conversation with the Mayor”. I appreciate your patience and understanding as we work together during this pandemic to ensure that voices are heard in a safe and personable environment.
