Incident: Structure Fire at 900 block of Leeville Pike
This morning, the Lebanon Fire Department A-Shift LADDER1, RESCUE1, SQUAD1, ENGINE2, SQUAD2, ENGINE3, CAR1, CAR2, CAR4, CAR7, CAR12, and Fire Marshal Division responded to a reported structure fire at the 900 block Leeville Pike after receiving reports of smoke coming from the roof. While crews were en route, dispatch advised that an off-duty Lebanon firefighter had arrived on scene, entered the residence, safely removed a dog and confirmed no occupants were inside.
Upon arrival, crews found the kitchen heavily involved. Firefighters initiated an interior attack and quickly brought the fire under control. Ventilation was completed to remove smoke. The kitchen sustained significant fire damage. During operations, crews also safely removed a cat from the residence. The dog that had been initially rescued ran from the scene before the homeowners arrived. After suppression efforts concluded, firefighters searched nearby wooded areas and streets, located the dog, and reunited it with its owners.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Preliminary observations indicate the fire may have originated in the kitchen, but no official cause has been determined at this time. The occupants have been displaced and are receiving assistance through the American Red Cross. All units have since returned to service.
