A view you don't get every day! Last week, DHART flew over the Paul Giblin Memorial Climb to the Clouds as 80 drivers raced the 7.6-mile Mt. Washington Auto Road β€” America's oldest hillclimb, dating back to 1904. It was a privilege to share the mountain with the racers, volunteers, and fans who make this event special. Congratulations to the Mt. Washington Auto Road and the Sports Car Club of New Hampshire on a record-setting weekend. πŸšπŸ”οΈ

Three people, one aircraft, and a whole lot of trust between them. A DHART transport takes a pilot, a flight nurse, and a flight paramedic working as one unit -every launch, every landing, every patient. Catching them smiling at sunrise is just a bonus. πŸšπŸ’š

🚁 MEET THE CREW MONDAY 🚁

Say hello to Aurora B., EMT and Paramedic Student here at DHART!
πŸ“ Based at: DHART Lebanon – With DHART since 2026

Background: Aurora began her healthcare career in 2018 after serving as a Hospital Corpsman. Since then, she has worked across a variety of healthcare settings, including hospice and physical rehabilitation as an LNA, orthopedics and sports medicine as a Medical Assistant and then as an Orthopedic Technician, and most recently as a Cardiovascular Technician. She holds degrees from New England College, Oregon State University, and the University of New England, with educational backgrounds in Psychology, Philosophy, and Kinesiology. This fall, she will continue her education at Vermont State University with a focus on holistic healthcare and paramedic medicine. Aurora’s diverse educational and clinical experiences have shaped her passion for patient advocacy, communication, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.

Why emergency medicine and critical care transport: Aurora chose emergency medicine and patient transport because she believes that some of the most meaningful moments in healthcare occur during a person’s hardest days. She strives to provide not only exceptional clinical care, but also comfort, reassurance, and human connection. Her goal is to ensure that every patient leaves her care feeling heard, supported, and treated with dignity, being, as she says, β€œtheir best friend on their worst day.”

Most rewarding part of the job: Working alongside a dedicated team of professionals who share the same commitment to providing compassionate, high quality care to patients and communities throughout New England.

Outside of work: When she’s not working, Aurora can usually be found practicing or teaching yoga as a certified yoga instructor, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, or exploring the White Mountains she proudly calls home. She is also rarely seen without her four pound rescue dog, who serves as her loyal copilot on many of her adventures and who happens to be blind in one eye.

Fun fact: Before pursuing a career in healthcare, Aurora played bass guitar in a feminist punk rock band. 🎸

DHART 13 at the start/finish line of The Prouty this past weekend. Only a few critical care Band-Aids were needed β€” but we shook close to a hundred hands: patients, fellow staff, hospital administrators, kiddos, so many smiles. That presence is what the day was really about. πŸ’›
