With the arrival of spring, our crews spent the day working on vehicle extrication skills—training for the types of crashes we see more of this time of year. Hands-on training like this helps ensure we’re ready to respond quickly and safely when it matters most.

Thank you to our partners at Case Towing for providing the vehicles and helping make this training possible! 🚑🚒..

🌧️ Yes, it’s pouring.
🌧️ Yes, everything is soaked.
🌧️ And yes… we’re still going to post this. Because every year spring in Ohio surprises us all in its own special way 😄

Ohio’s Spring Burn Ban runs March 1 – May 31, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.

Today probably isn’t a great fire day — but spring weather can change quickly, and dry conditions can sneak up on us faster than you’d think.

So enjoy the rain. Maybe make some hot coffee. And save the burning for after 6 p.m. (and only where it’s permitted).

Stay safe, stay dry, and happy spring! ☔🔥..

You didn’t ask for it… but surprise — more ice rescue pics. ❄️

Today’s unit day: several grown adults dressed as highlighters arguing over who gets to jump in the frozen pond first. We don’t question it anymore — we just supervise.

If the ice looks sketchy… don’t test it. Call us. 🚒..

This week, crews are taking advantage of the milder weather to run a hands-on Ice Rescue Review Practical led by Dennis Waldbillig. Crews are working through the fundamentals — throw bags, rope operations, victim packaging, and coordinated team rescues — while practicing real-world scenarios together.

Ice and cold-water emergencies leave little room for error, so training like this is all about preparation, communication, and trusting the person next to you. The more we practice now, the more ready we are when our community needs us.

Big thanks to Dennis for sharing his time and experience and helping keep everyone sharp. 🚒❄️..

🚨 Big Achievement Alert! 🚨

Recently, Firefighters Josh Allen and Hunter Anderson completed one of the most demanding certifications in emergency services: Paramedic.

Earning this certification requires hundreds of hours of classroom instruction, clinical rotations, and hands-on field training—all while working full-time shifts and balancing life outside the job. It’s a serious commitment, and it doesn’t come easy.

Because of their hard work, our community now benefits from even more advanced patient care, critical thinking, and life-saving interventions when it matters most. We’re incredibly proud of their dedication to both their profession and the people they serve.

Please join us in congratulating them! 👏🚑..
