With the KHSAA approving Pickleball to become a sactioned high school sport for the 2027 / 2028 School Year. We have decided to host a Beginners / Youth Pickleball Training League. There will be training, teaching, learning, and playing pickleball.

If your child 11-17 (6th Grade to Incoming Juniors) years of age is interest in pickleball and thinks they may want to play for their school in the future this is an excellent way to get a jump start on their career or pashion.

There is currently only 10 spots left, so sign up fast. The cost of the league is $40.00 and will include a MCECS Pickleball Club T-Shirt.

You must be a member of The Event Center to participate in the league or you can buy a daypass.

Glasscock Elementary Principal Completes Statewide Leadership Program

LEBANON — A Marion County school leader is among 44 principals from across Kentucky who have successfully completed the 2025-26 class of the Kentucky Chamber Foundation Leadership Institute for School Principals.

Jennifer Russell, principal of Glasscock Elementary School, recently graduated from the year-long executive leadership development program designed to strengthen school leadership and improve student outcomes throughout the Commonwealth.

The program provides participants with individualized leadership training through the Truist Leadership Institute, focusing on the challenges and opportunities school administrators face in today's educational environment. The curriculum is designed to help principals enhance their leadership skills, build stronger school cultures and support student achievement.

The Leadership Institute for School Principals has become one of Kentucky's premier professional development programs for school leaders. During its 14-year history, the Kentucky Chamber Foundation and its partners have invested more than $4.5 million in leadership training opportunities for over 641 principals representing 112 counties across the state.

Program leaders say graduates of the institute play a critical role in shaping the future of Kentucky education by strengthening leadership within their schools and creating positive impacts for students, teachers and communities.

Russell's completion of the program adds Marion County to the growing network of Kentucky school districts benefiting from advanced leadership training and professional development for school administrators.

Our next summer meal distribution is tomorrow (6-17-26) from 4:00-6:00 at Glasscock Elementary. Remember to enter campus at Lebanon Middle School and follow signs to the distribution site. Meal bundles are available for anyone 18 and younger.

MCPS is currently accepting bids on two surplus lawnmowers: Exmark Laser Z (72" deck with 2685 hours) and S**g Chetah (61" deck with 1750 hours).

Sealed bids will be received until 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 22 at the MCPS Board of Education building.

Bids must be typed or written in ink. Bids must be in an envelope marked “Exmark” or "S**g" for corresponding mower in the lower left-hand corner. The bidder’s return address shall appear in the upper left-hand corner. The seller reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities

There are still spots available for the Blue & You summer mentorship program offered through a partnership between our Family Resource and Youth Service Centers and the Lebanon Police Dept.

This program is open to male students who were enrolled in middle school or high school during the 2025-26 school year, and a waiver will need to be completed at the first event the student attends.

DON'T FORGET: Our third summer meal distribution is today (6-10-26) from 4:00-6:00 pm at Glasscock Elementary School. Our School Nutrition department will be distributing meal bundles for anyone 18 and younger. Unless the child is present, only a parent/guardian can pick up meals. Please follow our campus map to the distribution site.
