Lebanon Fire District is helping spread the word about an upcoming community blood drive hosted by the WesternU COMP Northwest Sigma Sigma Phi Club on June 3 from 10:00 AM โ€“ 3:00 PM.

Blood donations are especially needed right now, and every donor can help make a difference for patients in our community and across the region.

Over the past week, our Seasonal Assessment Technicians have been hard at work training for the upcoming wildfire season.

Gracie Wascher, Jonathan Sherpa, Luis Maciel, and Danny Lavigne have been completing hands-on training focused on wildfire response, defensible space, property risk assessments, and wildland apparatus operations as they prepare to begin community wildfire mitigation work throughout Lebanon Fire District.

Beginning this month and continuing through October, these firefighters will be working in neighborhoods across the district evaluating home ignition zones, conducting property assessments, confirming addresses, and helping identify areas at higher risk for wildland fire.

This program is supported through funding from the Community Wildfire Defense Grant and is part of Lebanon Fire Districtโ€™s continued efforts to strengthen wildfire preparedness and reduce community risk.

If you see these crews out in the community this summer, feel free to say hello and help us thank them for the work they are doing to support wildfire preparedness throughout the district.

Today, Lebanon Fire District members participated in the annual IOOF Memorial Day Ceremony to honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Lieutenant Perkins, a United States Marine Corps veteran, and Lieutenant Kroll, a United States Navy veteran, proudly presented a wreath on behalf of Lebanon Fire District during the ceremony.

On Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who served and never returned home. Lebanon Fire District extends its gratitude to all who have served and remembers the fallen heroes whose courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
