Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission

Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission UVLSRPC coordinates planning, acts as a liaison between local and state/federal governments and provides advisory technical assistance to 27 municipalities.

The Commission is one of nine Regional Planning Commissions (RPC) in New Hampshire enabled through state legislation (RSA 36:45). RPCs were created to coordinate all aspects of planning, act as a liaison between local and state/federal governments and provide advisory technical assistance. Regional Planning Commissions seek to promote intergovernmental collaboration and coordination throughout the regions they serve.

The New Hampshire Department of Natural and Cultural Resources' Grant Round 37 of the Land and Water Conservation Fund – Local Assistance Program is now open.

The the LWCF is a federal financial assistance program from the National Park Service directly to the states, and as pass-through assistance from the states to local units of government through a competitive selection process. Successfully procured funds may be used for the acquisition and/or development of public outdoor recreation lands and facilities. Grant awards are available between $150,000 and $1,000,000. Now through April 2027, prospective applicants can simply apply through the online application platform at any time.

Monthly open consultation hours will be provided by this office via webinar. Applicants, potential applicants, and project partners may register and join program staff in an open forum setting for questions on project eligibility and program requirements. Sessions will be held on the second Monday of each month through April 2027. The first of this series will be held on June 8, 2026, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) will hold the 2026 Drinking Water Source Protection Conference on Wednesday, June 3 at the Army National Guard Edward Cross Training Complex in Pembroke, New Hampshire. This year’s conference will feature a variety of policy and case studies that illustrate how to better protect local drinking water resources.
The conference fee is $55.00 (includes light breakfast and lunch).

The City of Lebanon and the Lebanon School District (SAU 88) invite community members to an upcoming informational session on the proposed Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern NH childcare center. The project includes the construction of a new childcare facility on land adjacent to 20 Seminary Hill, Lebanon School District SAU #88, funded through a combination of federal and state grants and private donations.

Get outside this weekend! Sustainable Lebanon is pulling garlic mustard and planting trees in Lebanon this Saturday, May 16th. If you'd like to assist with pulling garlic mustard, park at the NRT parking area on Icehouse Rd, and head east to find the pulling party! Long sleeves and gardening gloves recommended, as well as your preferred insect and sun protectants.

If you'd like to help plant trees, meet by the skatepark on Glen Rd at 9 am on Saturday morning. Shovels are supplied but it's recommended you bring gloves. Volunteers must fill out a form online beforehand. Visit https://tinyurl.com/y9uu4r5s for more information.
