We believe that we're greater together than we are on our own—that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules. We strive to elect to public office those individuals who hold these same beliefs and will represent Russell County with integrity, making it a better place to "live, work, and play." We are the official Democratic Committee of Russell County, sanctioned by the state and national Democratic parties.

As a SWVA native, growing up in Bedford County, Joy is the epitome of what rural is. Whether she is tending her farm, standing up for her community, taking care of her family or fighting the fight for all of us, Joy does it with her rural neighbors in mind. Challenge sent. Three debates, one each in different parts of the Ninth. Questions from voters, not consultants.

Congressman Morgan Griffith has represented this district for sixteen years. In that time, folks here have watched their power bills climb to keep data centers running, basic costs skyrocketing, and their medical coverage put at risk. People deserve to hear him answer for that in person, and to hear what I'd do differently.

I've said yes to all three debates. I've asked him to do the same by September 5. The people of the Ninth deserve that much.

Hey Folks! Mark your calendars for September 10th!

We are proud to announce Change on the Clinch - A community event about current issues within our district! Guest speakers and vendors will be present.

Keynote speaker of the evening will be Joy Powers for Congress!

The event will be held at the Cleveland Community Recreational Center. (6 Minor St, Cleveland, VA 24225)
