Thanks to the Flood Control Act of 1938, Congress authorized the the construction of Caesar Creek Lake, which was later built by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1972.

Levi Luken's cabin was slated for destruction as part of the Caesar Creek Lake Project, but was discovered to be much older than originally thought, so it was deconstructed and stored in pieces until a plan was established for its future.

Luken's Cabin, built in 1808, now acts as the anchor of the Caesar Creek Pioneer Village because it is the only building that was on the property when the village was established!

According to a study performed by Edison Research in 2024, 84% of individuals aged 13+ in the U.S. learn about True Crime through varying mediums such as television, books, podcasts, and more. 🔎🕵️‍♀️

Mr. Hammonds Morrow Elementary 5th grade class circa 1960’s.

From https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/177050856/ulysses-grant-hammond, we know that Mr. Ulysses Grant Hammond was a retired school teacher born July 5, 1895 in Greenup County, Kentucky, and died November 8, 1986 in Lebanon, Warren County, Ohio, at the age of 91. He is buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason, Warren County, Ohio and from this we also see that he was a veteran of WW I.

Did you know that Lion Coffee started in Toledo, Ohio in 1864? The brand was popular throughout our region until the company was sold off to pay debts in the mid 20th century.

Once the trademark lay dormant for awhile, Lion Coffee was reestablished in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1979. If you ever fly with Hawaiian Airlines, you can have a taste of the "new" brand for yourself.
