WOW… we closed out May 2026 with some truly amazing programs and outdoor adventures with Citrus County Parks and Recreation! 🌿🎣🐦

On Wednesday, May 21, we hosted our first Fishing Clinic with the ESE students from Transition Academy alongside our incredible partners from FYCCN and amazing volunteers! It was a wonderful day filled with learning about Florida fish, knot tying, and safe casting.

Then on Friday, May 22, we wrapped up our Parks Play Sports Series with an exciting Track and Field Obstacle Course that brought energy, teamwork, and fun to the finish line!

To continue an amazing week outdoors, we were honored to assist with Planting Day at Hunter Springs alongside the students from Crystal River Primary School. Watching young participants connect with nature and help care for our environment made the day truly special.

Finally, on Friday, May 28, we hosted our final Birding with Parks program for the season, and it was an incredible way to close out the month. From fishing and sports to conservation and birding, May was packed with unforgettable outdoor adventures.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our programs and to all the wonderful people we met along the way. A very special thank you goes out to our volunteers, partners, and sponsors — FYCCN and The Brandon Paul Foundation — for their continued support of Citrus County Parks and Recreation outdoor activities and community programming.

We can’t wait to see what adventures summer brings next! ☀️
