Citrus County Parks & Recreation, in partnership with CREST School, is bringing back Open Volleyball on Wednesday nights!

Whether you’re an experienced player or just looking to get active, meet new people, and have some fun, come join us for an evening of volleyball and friendly competition!

Citrus County Parks & Recreation is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help introduce our community to the exciting sport of archery!
Whether you’re passionate about archery or simply enjoy helping others learn new skills, this is a great opportunity to make a difference in our community.

🎯 Become an Archery Volunteer or a Parks and Recreation Volunteer!
Volunteers will help:
• Support archery programs for both youth and adults
• Other programs and events

Volunteer Requirements:
🏹 Must be 18 years of age or older
🎯 Must complete the USA Archery Online Certification by September 4, 2026

Parks and Recreation Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older

Central Ridge Community Park Farmers Market is coming this October!

We’re getting ready to launch our Central Ridge Community Park Farmers Market, and we’re looking for local vendors to help us fill the market and connect with our community!

From farm-fresh fruits and vegetables to handmade arts and crafts, we’re looking for vendors who have something special to share with our community.

Market Dates:
Second and fourth Saturday of each month
October 2026 – March 2027
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Whether you’re a local farmer, artisan, crafter, baker, maker, or small business, we’d love to hear from you!

Beginner’s Bow & Arrow Basics ~ Adults

Ready to try something new?

Ever looked at a bow and thought, “Hmmmm… I wonder if I could actually do that?” Well, there’s only one way to find out.

Grab a friend, a family member or your work buddy and come give archery a shot! It’s just one hour to step away from the usual routine and explore a new sport.

This fun, two-session introduction is designed for adults ages 18+ who are brand-new to archery. No experience. No pressure. No need to walk in knowing what you’re doing. We have the equipment, certified archery instructors and everything you need to get started.

October 3 — Get the Basics Down
Learn range safety, equipment, stance, grip, aiming and proper shooting technique. Consider this your “welcome to archery” session—you’re officially in the game!

Now that you know the basics, let’s sharpen those skills, make a few adjustments and put your aim to the test with some fun archery challenges.

Two Saturdays. One bow. Plenty of arrows.
And absolutely no experience required.

Ladies… Friday, August 28 is the LAST DAY TO REGISTER!

For the Women’s Fishing Workshop, let’s talk about what that $50 will actually get you.

Every Saturday in September | 9 AM–2 PM
Central Ridge Community Center
77 Civic Circle, Beverly Hills

Last Saturday = our onshore fishing adventure at Ozello Community Park!

NO FISHING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! Seriously, ladies. If you’ve never held a fishing rod before, you’re in the right place.

That’s 4 Saturdays for just $12.50 a day — and this is WAY more than standing around holding a fishing rod looking fabulous while hoping a fish makes a bad decision.

We’re getting educated, getting hands-on and getting our fish-catching game together!

You’ll learn how to:
*Cast like you mean it — without launching your bait into the next zip code.
*Choose your gear — because apparently, fishing rods are not all created equal.
*Rig your line and bait your hook — yep, you’re going to bait your own hook!
*Know the fishing rules — because “I didn’t know!” is not a legal defense. Nice try, though.
*Understand fish biology — because if you’re going to outsmart a fish, it helps to know what makes the little swimmer tick.
*Know your fish — species, behavior, habitats and some seriously cool fish facts.
*Read tide charts and learn basic navigation — because knowing where you’re going helps when you’re trying to find the fish.
*Fish safely and responsibly — because looking fabulous with a fishing rod is great; not hooking your fishing buddy's hat is better.
*Turn your catch into dinner — because catching it is only half the fun. Eating it is the reward!
*Play games, tackle challenges, laugh and have plenty of girl-powered fishing fun.

We’ll also have a luncheon to celebrate our newest anglers, and each participant will receive a certificate AND a really nice fishing rod, generously donated by our awesome sponsor, Fish Florida!

Then, for our last Saturday, WE FISH! We’re heading to Ozello Community Park for onshore fishing, where you’ll put your new skills and newfound fishing confidence to the test.

You’ll meet some pretty awesome lady anglers, make new friends, share some laughs and maybe discover your new favorite hobby. And yes, there will be a few guys around — they’re our awesome volunteers, so we’ll let them hang out with the cool chicks.

$50. Four Saturdays. Fishing education. Lunch. A certificate. A fishing rod. New friends. Lots of laughs. And hopefully… FISH!

So, if you’ve ever thought, “I really should learn how to fish,” or maybe you don’t fish at all but think fish are pretty darn interesting and want to learn more — this is the workshop for you!

October is Florida Native Plant Month, and we’re celebrating with a morning of learning, creativity, conversation, and plenty of plants!

Join us Thursday, October 1, from 9:00–11:00 AM at the Citrus County Canning Center for a fun and relaxed Florida Native Plant Workshop & Social.
