Governor Ron DeSantis' cheating worked. For now.

Yesterday, a DeSantis-appointed judge in Tallahassee declined to block the illegally gerrymandered congressional map.

The Florida Constitution forbids mid-decade redistricting. So legality is not up for debate, nor is it something I just made up.

To my friends in the Polk County, Pasco County, and Hillsborough County portions of what was District 15, I am sorry about all this. Unfortunately, my name will no longer be on your ballot. Thank you so much for your help and contributions. Of course, I would never shun you just because of this, so feel free to continue to reach out or help as you would like.

To my new friends who are in the Hillsborough County, Pasco County, Hernando County, and Citrus County portions of what is now District 15 that was not before, my name will be on your ballots. Thank you for such a welcoming reception, and I am ready to go to work for and speak with each of you.

I am NOT going anywhere.

They may have won this round, but remember that it is not how you start, but how you finish.

We will see what happens in November.
