Alexandria Fire Department Announces Passing of Fire Captain Joshua Holloway

It is with deep sadness that the Alexandria Fire Department announces the passing of Fire Captain Joshua Leon Holloway, who died on February 18, 2026. Captain Holloway was a valued member of our department and served the Alexandria community with dedication and honor.

Captain Holloway joined the Alexandria Fire Department in 2007 and throughout his career demonstrated unwavering commitment to public safety and service. His professionalism, courage, and compassion touched the lives of countless citizens and fellow firefighters.

While Captain Holloway did not pass away in the line of duty, his contributions to the department and the community will never be forgotten. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

Details regarding memorial arrangements will be shared as they become available. We ask that the public join us in honoring Captain Holloway’s memory and keeping his loved ones in your thoughts.

Today, our on duty personnel went to Carter C Raymond Junior High and taught fire prevention for and had a blast with the students! Thank you for allowing us to come and talk with the kids!

Today, Rapides Parish Fire Protection District 18 took delivery of this 2025 Freightliner/Pierce 3000 Gallon Tanker. This Truck was added to our fleet by utilizing funding awarded to District 18 from a FEMA AFG Grant.

Fire District 18 wishes everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year! Our personnel were busy this past year with our call volume steadily rising! They will also be pretty busy this year with training as this is our grading year! If you or anyone you know would like to become a volunteer, please stop by the station Monday-Friday to talk to someone about signing up!

We send our condolences to our brothers and sisters at Echo-Poland Fire Department and the family of AP Guillory. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers!

It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of one our own, AP Guillory (901). AP was a founding member of the Echo-Poland Fire Department. He served as Chief for over 20 years and helped get our department to where we are today. Please remember his family in your prayers during this time.
