🚒 AUGUST 2026 CALLS — RAPIDES PARISH FIRE DISTRICT 18 🚒

August was another busy month for our firefighters. Our members answered 43 calls for service, responding day and night to help protect the citizens of our community.

Every call represents someone in our community who needed help. We’re proud of the dedication and countless hours our firefighters put in to answer that call.

Thank you to our firefighters and their families for the time and commitment they give to our community. ❤️‍🔥

And as always, thank you to the citizens of Rapides Parish for your continued support of Fire District 18!

Louisiana heat can be more than uncomfortable—it can become dangerous quickly.

💧 Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water
🌳 Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning
👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
🚗 NEVER leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle
⚠️ Know the warning signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke

If someone becomes confused, loses consciousness, has a very high body temperature, or shows signs of heat stroke, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY.

Slow down in school zones, pay attention around school buses, put the phone down, and always watch for children crossing the road.

A few extra seconds of caution can make a life-saving difference.
