The NH State Commission on Aging honored Lee's own Jim Banks as a distinguished "Older Adult Volunteer" today! The commission chooses one recipient from each county on an annual basis. Per the commission: "Jim Banks is widely admired for his generosity, ingenuity and unwavering commitment to helping his community. His volunteer work spans the Lee Church, town energy saving projects, equipment repairs, and hands on support at the transfer station. In a remarkable act of service he once ran emergency cables during a prolonged power outage to keep town buildings heated and prevent major damage. Jim also provides free storage space for nonprofits and helps run an indoor yard sale that supports a community assistance fund he helped establish. His humble, practical service has strengthened his town for years." Congratulations Jim and a hearty "Thank You!" for all you do. (Photo credit Caren Rossi)
