🧯2026 ELECTION RESULTS:

Last evening, the Leeds Hose Company held our Annual Elections for 2026. The results shall be listed below. We congratulate all the members that were elected to their respective positions. We would like to thank everyone for your continued dedication and support of your community and the surrounding communities.

We are always accepting applications for membership. There’s a job for everyone so don’t feel afraid to stop by and talk with us soon!

A few shots from last evenings training with the newest of local recruits. Agencies from around the county send their members to the training center to receive their required education for the fire service. Leeds Hose Company is a regular participant where we will bring apparatus as needed and assist the instructors when requested. This particular training was for the recent BEFO class, many of these students will continue their education after this with an interior firefighter class. Some will not and that is fine, there’s a job for everyone and we are hiring! (No pay, long hours and a great family to be a part of)

Thinking about some past calls and wanted to share with you all our love for pets and wildlife. Yes we get a couple “cat in the tree” calls once in a while 😂, but we also are able to save a few four legged loved ones. One call in particular was when we met “BOB”. Bob survived a well involved house fire and was a fighter, but he was in bad shape. We cared for Bob until we finally got a vet on the phone in the early morning hours that agreed to meet us in Saugerties at the animal hospital. Our car 1 at the time loaded Bob into his vehicle along with a firefighter and rushed Bob to get the help he needed. Bob fought for a few days, got better and eventually after an extended hospital stay, was finally reunited with his owner.

Just a good memory from a tragic event.

Busy day for LEEDS BRAVEST! Multiple calls back to back today. Quick mid-day response from our members prevented a bad situation from getting devastating. First call was for a hybrid vehicle in close proximity to a residence that had caught on fire. Upon arrival Car 1 ensured all residents and pets were evacuated from home and were distanced in safety. The fire had extended to the attached 2 car garage. First apparatus went straight to work with two other trucks right behind them. They extinguished the exterior of the garage preventing further damage to the residence and simultaneously fought and extinguished the vehicle fire. Fortunately, the residence was spared due to the amazing stop performed by the firefighters of the Leeds Hose Company.

Next call was for a vehicle that had unexpectedly left the roadway and entered into the creek. The vehicle became fully submerged and fortunately the driver was not injured and was able to self extricate and swim/wade to shoreline.

Remember…. All 27 agencies in the county are volunteer, all these firefighters leave their jobs,homes and families behind while they respond to various emergencies in our community and surrounding communities. All calls today were handled by Leeds Firefighters. We are fortunate to have the response we do from Just Leeds members, but we do utilize mutual aid as needed and work extremely well with our neighbors.

This morning, Leeds assisted with the Interior Firefighting Operations course out to the Greene County training center. Members assisted with standby assignments and pump ops.

If you are interested in joining and serving your community, stop in every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and pick up your application. There are positions for EVERYONE in the fire service. These positions include:

-Interior Operations
-Exterior Operations
-Drivers
-Fire Police.

Thank you to Catskill Fire Company, Inc. for inviting us down to their station for training. Tonight’s topic covered the basics to vehicle extrication. There was a good turnout tonight and we look forward to working/training more with our neighboring departments.

Leeds members conducted a water operations/water supply drills. This is crucial for fire departments in rural areas due to the lack of hydrants.
