This is one of the many things that make this job and organization so rewarding!

Stephane is an elementary school teacher who came to me as a permanent resident. He was extremely proud of the opportunity to serve this great country. Even though he was not a citizen he believed in the opportunities the United States offered. He joined the National Guard and finished at the top of his class at both Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training.

He can now proudly say he is a United States Citizen!

Looking to improve your Standing Power Throw (SPT) and Hand Release Push-ups (HRPU)? Here are some tips! SPT-
1.Heavy weight resistance training with exercises like squats and deadlifts
2.Light weight resistance training with exercises like loaded squat jumps and/or trapbar deadlift jumps, keep the weight light for these exercises
3.Try jumps without any weight, such as tuck jumps
HRPU-
1.Work your chest and triceps with exercises like close grip bench press and dips
2.Upper back workouts like pull ups and single arm dumbbell toes
3. Core stability exercises like dead bugs or planks

Looking for ways you can improve your deadlift for the ACFT? Here are some tips! 1. Grip Strength- The stronger your grip, the stronger you will be 2. Form- Your posture should be tall with your feet shoulder- to hip-width apart and a slight bend in your knees 3. Hips and Glute engagement- keep the hex bar centered, and start your upward movement by pushing your feet through the floor, as you start to stand, squeeze your glutes and allow your hips to travel forward, at the end of each repetition your shoulders should finish directly over your hips
