Last night’s School Board work session focused on one of the most important decisions facing our community: the upcoming budget and tax levy.

Our elected officials and school administration held a detailed discussion about the financial realities, priorities, and trade-offs involved. This is the conversation that will shape the recommendation heading into the final decision on September 29th.

We strongly encourage every resident to watch the full discussion. Understanding the options, the challenges, and the reasoning behind them is the first step toward meaningful community input.

Watch the work session here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54Q2t3wwxFk

Your voice matters. Stay informed, ask questions, and get engaged as we move toward the September 29th tax levy decision.

PLEASE contact the LSR-7 School Board and let the members of the Board of Education know your views on the tax levy.

This is our community’s future — let’s make sure we’re all part of the conversation.

WHAT THE FLOCK?!

This morning’s Coffee with Bill was a great one!

We were joined by:

City Council Member Donnie Funk,

Lance Pollard (District 1 At-Large candidate for Jackson County Legislature),
Attorney Tony Miller, and
retired Police Chief Tommy Wright,

along with several other community members.

We had a thoughtful discussion about Flock cameras in law enforcement — how they’re being used and what guardrails should be in place to prevent abuse.

We, of course, talked about the LSR-7 tax levy AND Jackson County tax assessments.

Councilman Funk and I discussed communication issues and the need to get community involved.

We talked with Candidate Lance Pollard on the best ways to cut through all the crap and come up with real and practical solutions.

Real conversations like this are how we move forward together.

A special thank you to Frost Coffee for the excellent coffee and for providing a welcoming space for these community conversations!
