We are so excited to welcome our Tigers back to PLMS tomorrow for the first day of school! 🐯💛

Due to construction, our parent drop-off and pick-up procedures have changed this year:

🚗 Car rider doors open at 8:05 a.m.
🚌 Bus rider doors open at 8:10 a.m.
🕛 School starts at 8:20 a.m.

A new school year means it’s time to get Chromebooks back in action. A few simple habits can help your student keep their device charged, protected, and ready to learn!

💻 Quick Chromebook Tips to Prepare for the First Day

🟡Charge it nightly. Make sure your student plugs in their Chromebook each evening on a stable surface so it’s ready for the next school day.

🟡Protect the charger. Keep chargers away from pets and younger siblings. If a charger is damaged, send it to school and notify their teacher promptly.

🟡Close extra tabs. Too many open tabs can slow things down. Encourage your student to bookmark favorite pages and close tabs they’re not using.

🟡Restart regularly. A quick restart helps install updates and can solve many common performance issues.

👐 Carry it carefully. Remind your student to carry their Chromebook with both hands when it isn’t in a backpack to help prevent accidental drops.

🟡Report problems early. If the Chromebook or charger isn’t working properly, don’t worry! The school’s tech team is ready to help.

🟡Won't Power On? Broken screen? Damaged hinge? Students can submit a Help Desk ticket using their student username and password. If you’re unable to access the Help Desk, contact your student’s school to schedule a Chromebook or charger exchange. Please include a note inside the device describing the issue.

📌 Important: Student Password Update for Chromebooks

Most returning LSR7 students also have a new Chromebook password. You can find your student’s new password in the PowerSchool Parent Portal when you click “Student Credentials.” Have your student restart their Chromebook and log in with the new password before the first day of school.

6th-Grade transition day is Monday, August 24th! This student-only experience is designed to give 6th graders a “test run” of their school day, helping them become familiar with their routines and feel more comfortable and confident before the school year officially begins. Check your email or website for important details to help prepare for Monday. We can’t wait to welcome our new PLMS Tigers!

🩺 Jackson County Public Health will host an immunization clinic for LSR7 students on Thursday, Aug. 13.

🟡August 10th - Enrollment closes at 8:00 AM
🟡August 12th - 6th Grade Open House & Campus Quest (1:00–7:00 PM)
🟡August 13th - 7th & 8th Grade Open House (1:00–7:00 PM)
🟡August 24th - 6th Grade Transition Day (8:20–11:30 AM)
🟡August 26th - First Day of School (8:20 AM–3:15 PM)
🟡August 27th - Back-to-School Night (Parents/Guardians Only)
