Last week we hosted a Business Field Trip at MCC-Longview's State-of-the-Art Automotive Institute!

The new institute includes dedicated space for academic and corporate training programs, as well as a new diesel technology program. A second floor observation bridge overlooks 24 automotive work bays, and the renovation expanded the footprint for the Collision program.

Corporate training partnerships with General Motors, Honda, and Ford provides career-ready credentials and paid cooperative work experience with top US and international automotive industry leaders.

Our Leadership Lee's Summit Class of 2027 kicks off this fall!

We were excited to welcome upcoming class participants (who deemed themselves the "best class ever") to a welcome reception to spur new connections. Participants had a chance to meet their program coordinators and enjoy refreshments from our reception host, John Knox Village.

Thank you to Complete Construction Services for sponsoring this reception to bring together these new classmates.

Yesterday, entrepreneurs and business leaders came together for breakfast, networking and meaningful conversations focused on the challenges and opportunities shaping todayโ€™s business landscape.

Instead of traditional presentations, attendees chose up to four topics and joined small-group discussions with experienced business leaders โ€” creating an interactive space to ask questions, exchange ideas and walk away with practical strategies they can put into action.

From AI and networking to pricing your worth, founder productivity, work-life integration, leading through change, and building a team, there was something for every entrepreneur looking to learn, grow and take their business to the next level. The Leeโ€™s Summit Chamber of Commerce welcomed community members, business leaders and local residents to our monthly luncheon this afternoon at Green Street for Lee's Summit Mayor Beto Lopezโ€™s State of the City address.

Mayor Lopez reflected on the people, places and milestones that have shaped Leeโ€™s Summit while highlighting the progress being made across the community.

His address also looked ahead, offering a vision for Leeโ€™s Summitโ€™s continued growth and the opportunities that lie ahead.

The State of the City luncheon brought the community together to hear directly from the mayor, celebrate the legacy of Leeโ€™s Summit and look toward the future of our city.

Thank you to Saint Luke's Health System for making this event possible, and to Chef Aristo's Curbside, Catering & Eatery for the delicious meal.

Special thanks to everyone who joined us for this community gathering and to Mayor Lopez for sharing his perspective on the state and future of Leeโ€™s Summit.
