Folks are asking about Amendment One on the ballot concerning property in Walker and Fayette counties that is Sixteenth Section lands that Congress granted to the state for schools in the 1800's. A statewide amendment is needed because it involves more than one county. A yes vote allows the Franklin Co Bd if Ed to sell or lease the property, and the money would go to public schools. I'm voting yes.

Rebuild AL grant in the amount of $350,000 ($100,000 match required) coming to Cherokee County for resurfacing CR 126, 185, 8, and 103 for a total of 6.1 miles! I appreciate Gov. Ivey continuing to invest in infrastructure in our district!

Happy to have Kay Donaldson and Alabama Bass Trail tournament in Leesburg! Coosa Valley RC&D awarded a $15,000 grant to help fund the fish care trailer that gives them oxygen and electrolytes to help their survival rate after they're released. It rained today, but the fish didn't mind!

Back in Montgomery today for a press conference with Alabama Law Enforcement Agency during National Safe Boating Week to talk about another boating bill I sponsored this year. Now out of state folks will have to pass a boater safety certification to operate a vessel on Alabama waters. They could previously operate up to 45 days without it. We require Alabama residents to have a vessel license, they should too.
