On 7/22/25 at approximately 5:00AM Leesburg Police Department was
dispatched to a residence on Lakefront Drive in regards to a shooting. While
enroute the officer was notified that a separate call had come in about a male
subject at Coosa Corner that had been shot on Lakefront Drive. A Leesburg
Officer, Centre Police Department Officers, and Deputies with the Cherokee
County Sheriff’s Office responded to Coosa Corner to take statements from
those who were involved. The subject that had been shot was transported to a
nearby hospital and treated for a non life threatening injury. After statements
were completed, officers went to Lakefront Drive and conducted an
investigation. A signed search warrant was later obtained and executed on
7/25/25 by Leesburg Police Department and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office
Investigators.
Upon ex*****on of the search warrant, it was found the four individuals
occupied the home. A search of the house was conducted and resulted in a
large quantity of illegal narcotics that were seized and the suspected gun that
was involved during the above-mentioned shooting.
The shooting incident will be presented to a grand jury on a later date. All subjects involved are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Leesburg Police Department would like to thank the Cherokee County Sheriff’s
Office as well as Centre Police Department for assistance in this matter.
