I was referred to Moffitt Cancer center in Tampa. The problem was transportation back and forth from Ft Lauderdale to make the appointments. Mercy Flight Southeast was right there arranging free flights to make my appointments each time. I could not afford to do this otherwise as I was living on a pension from the VA. Though times were tough, Mercy Flight and the volunteer pilots were there for me every time. I never missed an appointment, thanks to them. They saved my life. I am forever grateful to you all."

"My daughter was born with a very rare condition. So rare that the only doctor with experience in her condition is all the way in Pittsburgh. I say all the way because we are in Florida. I was a wreck the first three months of my daughter's life and when I finally found her specialist, my next thought was how are we going to keep going to him. That was when I found Mercy Flight Southeast that saved me from stressing even more. I do not have words for how thankful I am! I feel that my words, my thank you's are not sufficient enough for all that they do for our family! My husband was diagnosed with a grade 4 GBM tumor in May of 2018. Despite a grim prognosis, things were well for many months. However the tumor surged back at the end of 2019. We had the great fortune to go to Boston’s Dana Farber Center at Harvard for unique, life-saving surgery. Our close friends mobilized to find resources to make this trip less of a burden. The most amazing resource was Mercy Flight Southeast. When I reached out I was prepared for a wall of bureaucracy and paperwork after months of wading through insurance procedures. I never could have anticipated such kindness, such efficiency, such incredible support. With well wishes and steady guidance, they arranged flights for both of us to go to Boston —not once, but twice. When, at the last minute, we had to change flights, it was as simple as a phone call. I’ve worked in the nonprofit sector for over 25 years, as both a leader and a public funder, and it is with that lens that I implore others to support an institution that lives its mission exceptionally well.

Declan's Story
Declan was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease which affects the cells of his young body. The monthly trips to the children's hospital for treatment have put a strain on a household which is already stretched, due to mom, Kathy, having to quit her job to care for Declan. Angel Flight Southeast flies Declan and his mom to the Children's Hospital for his care every month at no charge to them. Flights like these can only made by private aircraft such as Mercy Flight Southeast’s and are made possible by your donation!

Mercy Flight Southeast recently helped transport my 3-year-old from our home in Venice, FL to Cincinnati, OH. My son is a former micro-preemie who spent the first 6.5 months of his life in the NICU. He then spent the next year off and on in the PICU due to damaged lungs that caused routine infections to land him back on life support. Thanks to Mercy Flight Southeast we were able to take him to OH safely for a week of appointments and procedures. The staff and pilots helped make the process easy and stress free. Our pilots were extremely generous and accommodating to my son’s needs. Without this service my son would not have been able to receive the care he needed without risking his life!

A GREAT BIG shout out to Mercy Flight Southeast Care Traffic Controller Nicole and Pilot Tom Bishop for helping with Hurricane Laura Relief!
A call came in on Friday at 3:30 pm From Angel Flight South Central looking for pilots to assist with getting PPE, hygiene kits, and re-hydration packs from Ft. Lauderdale to Lake Charles on Saturday, Sept. 5th. People working on the disaster efforts are getting sick and overheating, so they are in desperate need of these materials. Mission accomplished with Tom carrying over 450 pounds of supplies for over 10 hours in the cockpit!
